No Music on Star and Star's Timing is off.

A couple days ago I noticed that the intellistar was 4 seconds off from everything else. Not just the local forecast (even though I always see the first 4 sec of the sat forecast) but the local ad packages, such as the transitions commercial that tells you what the UV index is. First I see the country's UV index with the lady talking. Then I see my local one as the next commercial is starting. But now today, there's no music in the forecasts. All I hear is Alan Jackson telling me what the weather is like. Is this happening to anyone else?

EDIT: AHH Tramel Sighting. They just started playing his music.

EDIT (again): The Star is even farther off by about 6 sec now as I can see the second slide of the sat forecast.

It could be Verizon's STAR. I'm in Baltimore and have an IS through Comcast and am not seeing this problem.

Interesting. We had a similar problem while I was down in the OBX. The XL would start to early and then for some strange reason all audio except the star and local ads was gone. It turned out the headend had done something stupid with the audio feed. Star support fixed them right up. Very strange this same thing is happening to you. The XL starting early was a hardware issue and it had to be replaced. Since you have an IS and the lf starts later I think thats a simple problem. I would call Star support and let them know and call your cable company too.

Sure! What's the worst that could happen? You get told you have the wrong department? That's nothing to sweat.

Sry to take so long to get back to you guys. I called. Wasted no time giving my star id and explaining the problem. He said its probably a hardware issue and then asked what company I work for. I said I didn't and he was like "?" He actually said I sounded professional and thought I worked for a company cause I wasted no time giving my id and giving the problem...unlike normal viewers who apparently "take forever to get to the point". So yeah they said they will call the headend provide them with the info and gave me a case id: 037011 for anyone who cares. So as long as you don't piss around the issue and get to the point you can pretty much just press 1 for headends.

Yes indeed, getting to the point quickly and assertively is always beneficial.

I think they think I work for a cable company now Oh well the point is that the problem gets fixed  I agree the guys over there are awesome! Several gave me their direct phone number if I had anymore issues. They are always tickled when people know whats going on.

It wasn't just your company. When I was up in the Belmar, NJ area this week their IntelliStar (Monmouth Cablevision) wasn't showing music during the time you posted this.

The music thing was a national issue at the time; it had nothing to do with the STARs.
