Dish Network to drop TWC from 214, carragie dispute

I just got Dish HD for my room (had Dish SD before) and I'm am so mad !!! Have you guys seen The Weather Cast? while the graphics and the LDL looks nice, the people are not TWC quality!  ACCUweather looks better!  I say Dish should keep both 

BTW,
after I restarted Dish Weather cast is on 213 and TWC is still on 214,
SO  when is TWC leaving? or did Dish already save it?

I am a bit surprised but when TWC charges outrageous amounts for its programming, something close to 8 bucks a subscriber and want more.... well these things happen. More then likely DISH is the one during severe weather thats gets bitched at when TWC fails to carry local weather programming since they have no STAR.

$8 per subscriber? This article says it's $0.11 per subscriber per month, which is $1.32 per year, and apparently that's pretty low for a cable network.

I suppose they could have different subscriber rates based on whether a local STAR is installed or not. Maybe just a base TWC subscription with no local STAR (satellite like Dish and DirecTV, or AT&T U-verse) is cheaper than those providers who choose to carry a local STAR.

IIRC,  cable companies are required to have a STAR installed, otherwise they can't carry TWC.

I must admit this move really surprises me.  Of course, I didn't know what was involved between Dish and TWC beforehand.

My mother just called  Dish,   Dish saved TWC!!!

TWC WILL go off at midnight tonight then wait  24 hours and then it will be back on.  I believe Dish is keeping both (weather cast and weather channel.)

the new contract must start SAT morning so Dish and TWC will end  their current contract tonight, wait a day and startup again.

While I agree TWC doesn't show enough Weather coverage I would not go this far. After I saw the people on The Weather Cast I'm so glad we 're kepping both!

wtf... this is confusing. So Dish plans to get rid of TWC, yet they save it and plans to keep both TWC and The Weather Cast? I was honestly hoping things would go as planned earlier. And I don't see anything that says TWC will remain on Dish.
