Dish Network to drop TWC from 214, carragie dispute

Something tells me DirecTV could follow down this same path because the channel isn't doing what it's made for. But after all, viewers' LF wishes came true back on September 25, 2008.

I doubt it will happen with DirecTV. TWC and DirecTV wouldn't have spent a ton of time and money developing the DirecTV LF app for it to all go down the drain two years later.

I bet Dish was the same when their TWC app was developed although it was nowhere near as complex as DirecTV's.

I hope DirecTV does this. This will teach TWC and NBCU a lesson about their content and how they're actually SUPPOSED to be a weather channel, and not a weather entertainment network.

The Weather Channel's fan page on Facebook is lit up with rants about this subject. Most of them saying something to the effect of "The Weather Cast is AWESOME! Good riddance, TWC!"

Wow, this is surprising. I'm a long-time Dish customer and knew nothing about this. Just tuned to 214 and they've already taken TWC off the air. Oh wait, they just moved it to 213. TWC is talking about the oil spill now. Good. When I think about oil spill news, I think of TWC.

I haven't really watched the channel since being forced to leave cable for satellite several years ago, so I can't say I'm going to miss it. And I'm certainly not going to use this as an excuse to change providers.

I am a bit surprised but when TWC charges outrageous amounts for its programming, something close to 8 bucks a subscriber and want more.... well these things happen. More then likely DISH is the one during severe weather thats gets bitched at when TWC fails to carry local weather programming since they have no STAR.

I just got Dish HD for my room (had Dish SD before) and I'm am so mad !!! Have you guys seen The Weather Cast? while the graphics and the LDL looks nice, the people are not TWC quality!  ACCUweather looks better!  I say Dish should keep both

after I restarted Dish Weather cast is on 213 and TWC is still on 214,
SO  when is TWC leaving? or did Dish already save it?

$8 per subscriber? This article says it's $0.11 per subscriber per month, which is $1.32 per year, and apparently that's pretty low for a cable network.
