I just turned TWC on, and first thing I saw was the HD Local Forecast. DISH HD customers, tune into TWC when you get a chance :thrilled:
-
Do you have to have the HD service to see it?
-
I'm assuming so...do you have DISH?
-
No, my grandfather does. And doesn't have the HD tier.
-
This is great news!! Hopefully I'll get to see it at my grandparents' house this weekend. :thrilled:
-
Everybody's grandpa has it..I feel like such an old man :P
-
krishnan might see this too
-

Yes. I used to has Dish and changed to TWC (cable) again.
-
This is for Dish HD scubscribers?

No. He's just trying to trick us with that topic title. He's secretly referring to Comcast customers.

Uh...huh... :whistling:

No, for people who watch TV through an antenna.
Maybe I'll see it live for the first time when I go up to Scranton next month (if the hotel has satellite, which is likely).

Mike, you'd be the last person I thought who would have an attitude with me. Well I guess I thought wrong.

Even if they have satellite, it's unlikely they have HD service.
-
Is it true HD? Just looking at the signal compression I'm seeing it as a SD on channel 214? It`s also on a standard def. transponder...?
Can you tell me what satellite it`s on, I`m affraid my listings might not be up to date.
Press Options - 6 - 1 - 1 and it should say.
-
Just scanned the satellite, there is no TWC HD transport stream... I think you might have seen a SD feed mix up. :hmm:
-
The DISH website claims they offer TWC HD.

Can you personally see it in your guide? or don't you have DTV?

Steve has DirecTV

Wait, what? It may not be in true HD (yet), but it is the HD feed. I don't know what you're getting at

There is no HD / SD: HD Feed on any of the Dish Network satellites, the only TWC feeds on here are of the true SD feed.

So, what am I seeing, then? I'm obviously seeing the new HD satellite forecast that came out last February. When I turn on TWC, I have to type in 214. If I wanted the standard TWC, then I have to manually hit Channel Up (there's two 214's)

What I have, is a Motorola DSR-4402X IRD (http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Business/Products/TV%20Video%20Distribution/Network%20Infrastructure/Integrated%20Receiver%20Decoders/DSR-4402X/_Documents/Static%20Files/dsr4402_feb02.pdf) receiver in place, I see each channel, as its own map; on each transponder, on each satellite I don't have a Dish receiver. Dish receivers can view multiple (2) satellites at once and make one big guide out of two satellites.
From what you said, I thought TWC HD was on channel 214 (11276, H, 20000, 119) , when I found out it wasnt there, I scanned the transponder (cluster of channels within a group, 11276, H, 20000), when it wasnt on that transponder, I scanned the satellite (119) when I scanned the satellite and found nothing about TWC HD, I thought you were crazy. I think I found out where my mistake was...
Check this out, I'm sure you can figure this out but get in to your Dish Pointing / Dish Aiming selection in the Options menu (Mostly it's press Options, 6, 1, 1) and tell me if it says "Echostar 119 West" or "Echostar 129 West"... If it says 119 West, I'll eat my hat.

Umm, actually, it says Satellite 61.5. I checked to see which options were available, and 119, and 129 were in the list, but I have 61.5 selected apparantly.

Ready to eat that hat Kyle? :P :rofl2:
