Just curious, did Xfinity buy out Comcast?

Xfinity isn't a Cable company, it's just a brand name Comcast was using for their On Demand Service. (and branched out such as with their equipment/trucks whatnot) The company name overall is still Comcast.

Incorrect. Xfinity is the "brand" name they are utilizing for their consumer phone, internet, TV, and home security services. Business services are still utilized under the Comcast name. The company as a whole still exists.

I didn't (and should have) mentioned about the phone/internet services, but I don't see how everything else I said was incorrect. Everything I did mention has been re-branded as Xfinity and as we both said the company overall is still Comcast.

On a side note, I actually didn't know they offer a home security service. Man, I feel sorry for the sucker who relies on them for Home Security. They might as well leave a key for the burglar outside the door and a note that says, "Take whatever you want, there's also cookies on the dining room table if you want em too."

At :57 after the hour when you see the ID and hear "The Weather Channel is brought to you by this cable or satellite provider", I see the Xfinity logo, that is, when I am watching somewhere else in the country (like at my grandparents in Florida), where Comcast/Xfinity is their cable company (mine at home is Charter). I also see on Comcast Sports South, the Xfinity logo.

I don't remember who brought it up, but this morning my HD set up box was upgraded to where when you enter a ch. number it shows up in a black box with a grey outline along with the channel name.

I don't know why some of y'all are just now getting that. I've had it even since before the days of the iGuide.

It must be dependent on which areas are transitioning/have transitioned to Full-Digital, my area got that feature sometime in 2012.

Comcast is slow as molasses when it comes to implementing new things around here.

Oh God NO!

Are Time Warner Cable and Comcast Aiming for a Merger?
http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/are-time-warner-cable-and-comcast-aiming-for-a-merger.html/?ref=YF

If this happens, the number of cord cutters will surely skyrocket. :P I didn't know until I read this article that Comcast had share in Hulu, haven't these people bought up enough companies as it is?

EDIT: It's mentioned in the article, but Charter was also interested in merging with Time Warner Cable.

Oh, so they're the ones who dropped CBS in Dallas (as Time Warner).  I knew it had to come back to Comcast.  :P

If this does indeed happen would Xfinity Customers get Switched Digital Video (SDV) that Time Warner currently has?
