Comcast HD Feed on SD Feed!
« on: August 29, 2017, 06:38:40 PM »
On our Comcast here in Chicago, the HD feed is on SD feed since last year and the same thing happens in Cicero, IL. Does anyone knows why this is happening? Oh does this happens on other Comcast cable companies as well?

Your headend has an Intellistar 2 xD, which transmits in both HD and SD (letterboxed). It replaced the original IS in late 2015. I don't have Comcast, but I'm pretty sure it's like that with all of their headends. Hope this helps ;)

Weird, I have Spectrum, and the same thing has happened to me!  This was just recently though (past couple of weeks or so).  Seriously.  The HD channel started showing the SD version (non-letterbox), then shortly afterward, changed to a letterbox of the HD feed, still SD.  I called my cable company, and they were of no help.
