Comcast digital migration question

Well, what I don't understand is that Comcast is increasing top internet speeds from 20 mbps to 50 mbps. I have yet to see that happen, as the internet at both my mom's and dad's is no faster than it always has been.

Those speeds are for the fastest internet plan. Do they have that? Cable speeds up to 50mbps are associated with DOCSIS 3.0. That actually requires a new modem I think

I'll have to look into that then. I sure hope this plan of which you speak is no more expensive. We are paying enough as it is.

In situations I have seen the basic speed package is about $29 with the highest package (without DOCSIS) at $60. With DOCSIS or FIOS) you can see costs for the highest go up to $150. I pay $60 a month for 20down 3up

my parents pay around $56 for my speeds touching 30mpbs at times.

Supposedly, Comcast is moving their expanded basic lineup to all digital within the next two months here in Bucks County (including TWC, which will be gone on September 1). I have a question though, would I be able to still view these channels with my digital tuner, or would I still have to hook that up to their DTA's as well?

for now but soon they will trun on privacy mode and force you to get a cable box , cable card / tur2way / dta to view.

Yeah, the ClearQAM lineup sucks here. Would be nice to add additional channels so I don't have to deal with the clutter and fees of digital boxes.

It sucks here also, and it changes almost daily.

Your ClearQAM-equipped TVs will still be able to get TWC (I'm in the Beltway Region, and TWC has been converted here already; my 42" Philips plasma picks up both the analog and QAM channels).  We lose the analog version on Tuesday (23rd of March).
