Verizon FiOS, and I LOVE it.

And I envy you. I want FiOS so bad, but it STILL isn't available here.  <_<
It'll never be available in my city/neighborhood :( Tyler's lucky.

What can I say... Comcast.

My old cable company had so many name changes over the years. Around here in central Illinois, it was orginaly General Electric Cable back in the 1970s. Then it became UA Cablevsion, and then TCI, and later AT&T Broadband, and then Insight Communications, and now Comcast even since 2008.

I'm glad we switched (even though I miss my IntelliSTAR).
Classic TWC, Weatherscan, legacy WeatherSTARs, and classic Prevue/TV Guide fan.

Time Warner Cable
Welcome to the Club! Since the consesus denotes that Comcast and Verizon FiOS is better than Time Warner, I'll think about getting them when I leave for University.

When I was born, we had Cablevision, that's when the Northeast companies dominated North Carolina. In about 1993, our cable provider (which at that time, we did not have cable nor satellite, we just had the Rabbit Ears) changed to Time Warner Cable. When we got cable in 2003, when we moved to a better living situation, Time Warner, Adelphia, and Comcast were in talks about splitting the cable providers into clusters. The cluster they were talking about for the Charlotte Area was originally Comcast, since Comcast is in the mountains and not mostly anywhere else in North Carolina (since North Carolina was dominated between Cox, Time Warner, and Charter), which we would most likely have been better off with Comcast.

Had Oxford Valley Cablevision, absorbed by Suburban Cable in '96, which was absorbed by Comcast in late '99. Comcast brought us a lot of new channels (including Weatherscan) in 2000 - now they're taking them away yet still raising their prices.

In Tulsa, we had TCI back in the 1990s, then I moved to the Fresno, CA area in 1999, had DirecTV for a while, then MediaOne. We moved back to Tulsa in 2000 where we had Cox Communications. I stayed with Cox Communications until August 2008, when I was forecd to switch to DirecTV.

Tampa had Time Warner until 2003 when it got renamed to Bright House in like 2002 or 2003.

Comcast has always been dominant down here in Atlanta sadly.  :( The only other thing around here is DirectTV and Dish, and we have AT&T U-Verse too.

Sure wish my city could get FIOS. City is being stubborn about letting them. Every city round Norfolk has it, even rural and less populated cities!

My mom complains how bad Comcast's service is... I'm trying to convince her to switch to DirecTV and not FiOS... DTV seems to be faster at rolling out HD channels. Philly is always on dead last on FiOS' list on adding HD channels.

So what? Still more HD channels than Comcast has. And, the service is superior.
