Title: Archival doppler radar data
Post by: ViroshSiegecraft on March 01, 2014, 05:22:05 PM
does this exist?  I want to look up old severe storms I observed.  Some of which happened to Tennessee back in 2000 and I need some data.

YouTube, believe it or not, has a large collection of radar and satellite loops from various storms.

I would use

http://locust.mmm.ucar.edu/ (http://locust.mmm.ucar.edu/) There Not local radar sites but can get Tennessee close up enough to see counties. Radar goes far back as 1999 or so. Under Radar choose the link that says cent_missvly

http://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/GIS/apps/rview/warnings.phtml (http://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/GIS/apps/rview/warnings.phtml) Get radar images from 2002 and on from local radar sites. Plus watches, warning data .etc for the past. All on one map. Pretty Cool   B)

having a hard time finding the particular storm in 2000 but I got to see the June 21st 2011 storm in east TN quite clearly.

That severe storm was the greatest graduation present...EVER!
Then we got a tornado on the morning of June 24th 2011...

Actually, I need to talk to someone about that storm, something completely puzzles me about it
