Title: Someone has posted...
Post by: G2003 on June 26, 2007, 07:31:53 PM
Often when posting a reply to a thread, it denies it and said "Someone else has posted in this thread since you started this reply" or whatever. this is highly annoying, and quite frankly, I dont care if someone has posted. Can this be turned off?

Nope. I actually think its helpfu. I don't always quote, so knowing that someone else hs slipped a post in can be very helpful.

Sorry I don't think there's anything we can do about it. If there is, I'm sure Stephen will fill us in.

I actually like this feature. It helps because, let's say, you're answering a question, and it's helpful to know before you post if someone has already answered it. ;)

Agreed. In my opinion its definitley a useful feature, and one that should not be removed, even if it can be.

I wasnt asking that it would be removed for everyone. If you like the feature, fine. i was just wondering if I can turn
it off just for myself.

Now THAT I know can't be done. That's a settting that would probably either be on for everyone or off for everyone. If it was changeable it probably wouldn't be changeable on an individual basis.

The one thing I don't like is after you post, you're transfered directly to the subforum, and not to your post. I always like to look over my post after I posted it to make sure it all makes sense.

You can change that by before hitting the post button, click the Additional Options link on the post form, and then click the "Return to this topic" checkbox. :)
