Logo ideas

Don't want to step on anyone's toes here, but does there have to be a white background? I think a logo with no background would look nicer.

As I said, I am figuring out how I wanna play with that, but for right now, until I'm bored with it, I'm not motivated enough to put the effort forth to work on something new, lol... I've got ideas in my head I just don't know how I'm going to implement them

Whilst I truly appreciate all your hard work, I'm awestruck by the fact that it takes being bored to motivate you to do anything. Whatever happened to doing things without the need for motivation, having a love for the site as your motivation? IIRC, we had a similar problem when you finished with the site. I had to put it up myself, otherwise I would've had to wait until you felt like making a guide (for the record, it was easy-a guide wouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes).

Maybe I just expect too much because I see Tyler working all the time at TWCC and he never seems to need special motivation. 

You took that the wrong way. When I said "I won't make a new logo until I'm bored with the old one" it means I like my work and I won't change it based on what one person says. I apologize for the wording I chose on that. I love my design, and in my heart, I won't change it based on one opinion.

I'm planning up a revision on it, yes, however, I don't feel I need to work on it right away because many are satisfied with what's there right now. I don't need any special motivation either. I chose bad words to express my thought, sorry about that :/

You know, only one person asked you to change the design. You don't have to do it just because one person didn't like it. 

Anyway, I understand that your under alot of stress right now, and I understand that you didn't mean for what you said to sound as it did. 

EDIT: I see you've already decided not to change it. I support that decision 100%.

The logo looks great, Jesse! I especially like the fade-effect.

The fade was a little difficult to get just right, lol... Also, I wanted to try to imitate the XLv2/ISv1 look a bit, but not 100%.

I didn't intend for it to be a background, plus I can't have the blue text on blue... you wouldn't be able to see it

Yeah, that was my thought exactly. How can you take the background away, when text and forum header are both blue? Doesn't seem to me like that would look too good, but maybe Tyler sees it differently.

i too thought of that when i saw it. but also understood about the blue on blue problem, so i didn't say anything.

I chose blue for my design because it's one of my 2 favorite colors. I wouldn't change it for the world, lol.

As to the white background, I see where you're going with that, so thus I chose to do a bit of a fade effect. Again, I wanted to make it sort of look like the XLv2/ISv1/ISv2 but not 100%.

Well the background could be an image, instead of white. Or, you could change the top default image to a picture of clouds or something. There's lots of possibilities...

I'll think about it, but no guarantees seeing as how I like it as it is.

I"m not saying you have to change it, I was just giving suggestions which, IMO, would make the forum look a a bit more professional. That's all.
