What is the worst show TWC has ever aired? Since there are so many its hard to choose just one, but I chose Climate Code.
-
whoop... Its not the CLimate Code anymore... Its Forecast earth.
It sucks. Though i was kind of interested in that solar panel thing last week. Pretty near how excess energy
goes back into the power grid and you get paid for it!!
-
I edited the poll.
As for me, it's Climate Code/Forecast Earth.

Climate Code/Forecast Earth
-
Wow, its unanimous (so far). CC/Forecast Earth is the worst! ;D
-

Yup
-
Climate Code/Forecast Earth for sure. That is just an opinionated show of that Heidi Cullen.
-
Climate Code/Forecast Earth. I don't think Global warming is happening now.
-
Climate Code and Forecast Earth episodes with Heidi Cullen put me to sleep. Some of Nick Walker's Forecast Episodes had interesting episodes.
-
Climate Code/Forecast Earth. I don't think Global warming is happening now.
And that is why I think it is the worst show. Many people (myself NOT included) do not believe in Global Warming. And all that show is, is just a show so Heidi can get some face, and make her look stupid.
-
Global warming is happening, we get it! Stop shoving it down our throats every damn second! :censored:
-

Exactly!!!
I swear that everytime I turn on TWC, and they are talking about global warming, it is the same stuff they have been telling us for a while now.
-
I absolutely hate Climate Code. It's nothing but the global warming crap. It's the same for Forecast earth when Heidi Cullens hosts it. I used to like Forecast Earth when Nick Walker hosted it.
-
It appears Heidi Cullen's show is the runaway winner (errrrr....LOSER)....*LOL*
-
There is no doubt in my mind that The Climate Code (and the Dr. Heidi Cullen-hosted episodes of Forecast Earth) is the least interesting show for me to sit down and watch. It Could Happen Tomorrow has gotten really redundant.
I don't have a personal issue with Dr. Cullen, but I'm getting tired of the constant force feed of the global warming issue, too. I know we have to take better care of the environment, but I think the focus should be on getting industry that contribute to the problem to be a part of the solution.

I agree with you 100%. It's really getting annoying with all this global warming stuff. I do believe in global warming, but do we really need it shoved up in our faces every day?
-
I agree with you guys 100 percent.
-
The activists' intentions of spreading global warming awareness is all well and good, but scare tactics and overkill might turn some people off. We don't want to see global warming become just another bandwagon trend and then fade away after overexposure by the media.
Part of the problem is The Weather Channel doing a bit too much talk on global warming right now instead of an occasional feature story periodically. It seems like every single day it is brought up as often as everyday weather forecasts.
-
I think the problem is that TWC has decided that this is how it stands on the global warming issue, and so its going to push its viewpoints. Personally, I liked TWC much better when it was unobjective.
-
Couldn't agree with you MORE LF....
-
Believe it or not, i actually learned some interesting things from Forecast Earth/Climate Code. Its still a crummy show though :D

I agree with u

twc to many specials not enough weather lol
-
Anything Heidi Cullen touches becomes a disgrace to TWC. I miss the Weather Channel that showed weather, not atmospheric changes. Nothing seems very organized now. I remember the daytime segments of Weather Center...Weather Center at :00, TravelWise at :10, Weekly Planner at :20, Weather Center at :30, Weekly Planner at :40, and Storm Watch at :50. Now, it seems more "fly by night" than ever. Will things change? That remains to be seen.
-
I agree with you. Things now are a far cry from the way they used to be.
-
Yeah, I'm tored of Dr. Heidi Cullen and her climate change crap. OK It's happening. Big Deal. I used to miss the old TWC that show weather information and severe weather alerts.
-
I watched the :00 Weather Center segment today, and tried to compare mentally this segment and how it differs with what my "glory days" of the Weather Channel. ('98-'01 or '02) I noticed they actually talked weather for a full six minutes, no global warming or anything in there. They split it into three segments: Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-West, leaving out the West. (something I never recall occurring in the aforementioned era) However, I was impressed that they do indeed show weather during the day.
The opener and music, however, is horrible.
-
The opener and music, however, is horrible.
I disagree. I like the opener, and how it flows with the music. It is one of the few openers that TWC uses where it actually flows well with the music. As far as the music, I like it too, but TWC has had better music than this, no doubt about it.
-
Of course this is only my opinion, but the only thing I really like about the current Weather Center graphics is they match the primary bar used over the maps. (At the top of the screen, IE "Doppler Radar" and its corresponding key)
-
How did you all get on the topic of Weather Center? Its not even a poll choice. :D :P
-
IMO, TWC's...general take (if you will) on weather is good. It's just their presentation that really turns me (and i'm sure other people) away. By presentation, I mean graphics, music, "shows", and other small things. just tweak those, and its back to the golden age.
-
I agree. They've (in my opinion) really dumbed their presentation down. I enjoyed it much better when they used to show the more sophisticated info, like the jetstream map for instance.
-
I can agree with that.
little off topic...at WGN Chicago, Tom Skilling is VERY sophisticated in his presentation and details, but his forecasts are always wrong.
My parents have given him the nickname "Skillet Head"
-
Sophistication means nothing if you can't get it right. :D
-

Precisely :D
-
Okay, Global Warming is happining, we know it, nothing we can really do about it.
Heidi needs to leave TWC whatsoever, i never watch her show anyway.
I liked TWC best 96-02 and the March 98 - 01 openers were the best openers of LOT8's. I kinda like the
new Storm Stories opener (well, for recent openers!!!)
-
Okay, Global Warming is happining, we know it, nothing we can really do about it.
Uhhh...Where have you been? Of course we can do something about it...
-
Everything flowed together with my comment of how The Weather Channel has changed quite a bit.
If Forecast Earth preempts any hurricane coverage later this year, I'm done. Of course, that's assuming a tropical system develops and threatens the US.
-
Uhhh...Where have you been? Of course we can do something about it...
No scientist can be sure of how the earth was thousands of years ago. Claims of warming at a pace faster than normal doesn't hold any value unless you have precise data from the very early years of the earth. Of course, that is humanly impossible. Truly, only God knows precisely what the earth was like long ago. Of course, if you don't believe, that statement holds no value either.
Thus, this may be a completely natural process...meaning there's little if anything humans can do to reverse the warming.
-
Yes, this is mainly natural, There MAY be a way to SLOW it down, but nothing really that impressive.
-
I wish there was an "All the above" button, but if I have to choose, it's CThe Climate Code/Forecast Earth.
-

It's there now. :D
-
TWC should be called the Global Warming crap channel. Boy I miss the old days, even if I was a baby back in the 90s.
-
I dont mind Storm Stories, it should be cut from 3 hr a night to 2 hr a night. Forecast Earth/Climate Code needs to be pulled off TWC. Atmospheres should go in where Forecast Earth or Climate Code is located. It could happen tomorrow isnt the best show, but its better than Forecast Earth or Climate Code. I never really watched Atmospheres that much.
-

It is 2 hours a night. ;)
-
I thought it was like 7 pm 11 pm and then like 3 am.
-
In my oppinion, the first 50 episodes of SS were okay. After that, junk :(
-
I thought it was like 7 pm 11 pm and then like 3 am.
3 AM (ET) is EEWC (pre-recorded from the 1 AM ET hour). ;)
-
I'll check the times on TWC's site before arguement begins. I just remember seeing it on my TV one of the nights it showed 3 times.

Trust me, Storm Stories is only on at 7 and 11 ET. ;) The only time special programming (which is NOT Storm Stories) airs at 3 AM ET is on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
-
Yea, your right. I do trust you, i got confused with It could Happen Tomorrow/Full Force Nature. I checked it on a Sunday night. I thought the last running of it was a Storm Stories. Oh well, we make mistakes.
-
The worse is Full Force Nature
-
I think they should take off all of these shows and just stick to what they have been doing best for 25 years; the weather.
-

AGREED!
-
The worst shows ever are Epic Conditions, Weather Ventures, and Forecast Earth (the Dr. Cullen version). The rest of the special programming doesn't bother me.
-
Forecast Earth and Storm Stories
-
All of the above. I can't stand it with with FE (Dr. Cullen version) and the two shows that occour on oct 2007.
-
All of the above because all that time spent on special prog. (that most people don't bother to watch) could be used as local forecast/emergency feed time well used.
-
Forecast Earth should cut the Climate change stuff and Climate Code should just die in a fire. I'm tired of hearing about "Global warm-" err, "Climate Change" or whatever they're labeling it now.
-
Climate Code should just die in a fire.
It already did! :whistling:
-

no. quite possible. its been discontinued.
-
Wait..... you mean people didn't watch a show dedicated to shoving "Doom and gloom is coming and you are the cause!" down everyone's throats?

no...forecast earth happened. so it prompted twc to drop the climate code.
-
Forecast Earth (when I do catch it) can, and does sometimes offer MORE than just "BAWWWWW CLIMATE CHANGE". They do need to trim their overall "special programming" down to Storm Stories, Forecast Earth and the occasional WWCH.
And, put it all on the weekends.
-
I'm glad Climate Code is gone. I hope they saw this thread :P

This thread started after Climate Code had gone. ;)
-
Limit long-form to Forecast Earth, Epic Conditions, WeatherVentures, WWCH.
-
I don't like any of those "young audience" oriented shows like Epic Conditions or WeatherVentures. The only shows I've liked since 2003 are Storm Stories, Full Force Nature, It Could Happen Tomorrow, and Forecast Earth.
-
I liked the older episodes of SS but then the newer ones sucked.
-

the only thing i liked about the climate code, was their graphics and music. hahaha
-
The Jim Cantore-voiced ones in SS were the best ones IMO.
-
Every one of these shows suck
-
Remember the older Storm Stories episodes from 2003 when they actually showed Jim Cantore outside in the end of the show during the trivia questions? I never see those anymore.
-
Forecast Earth.
-
Full Force Nature, hands down.
-
Forecast Earth, Climate Change, and Full Force Nature.
-
Climate Code.
-
It Could Happen Tomorrow and Full Force Nature. I can't beleve even Jim Cantore created those two shows.
-

He didn't create those shows. ;)
-
Whatever gave you the idea Jim had ANYTHING to do with those shows, let alone created them?
-
According to Wikipedia (we all know how accurate it can be ), Jim created ICHT.

I don't buy it.
-
That's why I never use wikipedia. They are too inaccurate. I remembered once they had Cheryl Lemke and Warren Madden in the list of "former OCMs"
-
Every one of these shows suck
Couldn't have said it better myself. When they just had Atmospheres on for two hours twice a week, it wasn't bad, but in the last 2 years they have come up with so many special programs that I believe are just fillers so they don't have to hire more meteorologists.
-

I actually quite enjoyed atmospheres. And I initially enjoyed Storm Stories too. But it got old really fast, and before long I found myself wanting more weather and less of the long form crap.

I enjoyed Storm Stories and Atmosperes too. I even enjoyed some of the early Forecast Earth epsiodes too (back when Nick Walker produced the show).
But I totaly agree. Ever since when they merged The Climite Code and Forecast Earth into one show, I started to think that that recent Forecast Earth episodes was starting to go downhill.
-
Forecast Earth Sucks, 30 friggin people agree (as of 9.16.8.) I believe Global Warming is happening, but it just is not so bad that we need to deal with it. I think scientists are working on it and there is nothing we can do.
