True HD has not started yet, except on their recorded programming. But live studio programming is only being upconverted. I think thats the term.

Yes, upconverted is the term. True HD for live programming won't start 'til mid-'08 IIRC.

All of the non studio programming is HD.
Only Epic Conditions and Weather Ventures are. The rest of the pre-recorded programming (Storm Stories, Forecast Earth, etc.) are not in 'true HD'.

Obviously. If they weren't true HD before, they can't be true HD now.

Okay, so they fully won't be in HD until June 2008 (or mid June).  As in, that is when all of their live field reporting will be HD ready?

Because I could have sworn I read somewhere that the live programming will be in HD starting sometime January (or early) 2008

 can anyone confirm?

i can guarentee it's going to be mid-2008...if anything the studios won't even be ready by january, even so, they'll need to move in the new cameras, backdrops [if any], desk, chairs, computers, etc into the new studio itself.

If you have DISH OR DIRECTV and have Weather Channel HD station, you see the LOT8's in HD.
