There aren't many changes to note in the schedule aside from the new show called "Lightning Rod" on weekday evenings and an alteration of the long form on the weekends.  I see that "Impact TV" and "Full Force Nature" are going to be canned in Q3, and "When Weather Changed History" disappears in Q4.  However, I do see "Weather Caught on Camera" and "Storm Riders" are coming aboard in Q4.

What is "Impact TV"? I've never heard of it.

"Impact TV" is airing on TWC right now. Here is the description from zap2it.com:

Quote
Out of the Frying Pan

Heat related clips from events around the world.

The show is narrated by Adam Berg.

This was posted a while back. Lightning Rod despite being on the schedule still has no firm launch date

So, when will it eventually launch?

Apparently not soon. If there was there would surely be promos of it already.

Not necessarily. The Tornado Road thing on TWC that replaced Movie Night iirc was advertised a week in advance and WUWA ads began rolling a month before its premiere

Its in focus group testing. Once it gets through that they will get a launch date. Then expect the promos

I'm surprised they announced it through Twitter and such so long ago without it even going through focus group testing or anything. You'd think that once they make the public aware of it, they'd already be ready for launch. Strange decision there.

They have too many shows that are not live weather reporting and updates. At least during Atmospheres which debuted 10 years ago this month, they had periodic weather updates. They have none of that now. Sometimes, they do during severe weather outbreaks, but not even always during those times. <_<

Too much money. TWC is probably already in a ton of debt from just doing severe weather coverage, not to mention getting rid of Flick and a Forecast that they expected to be a huge hit.

They...got rid of that?!?! :o Of course, a person like me who wants live weather on The Weather Channel is happy about this, but I thought ratings were high for something like this by the average viewer. It serves TWC right that showing movies on a WEATHER channel is stupid. <_<

I never thought about showing long-form and stuff being a money-making thing. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, Mike.

Yes, FAAF was cancelled back in May after the Dish/TWC dispute.

Steph mentioned it on the air today; TWC is holding off the premiere until the fall just like network TV.
