With the recent tornado outbreak in the south, TWC is going to air some tornado specials next week.

I miss the specials TWC aired in the 1980s and early 1990s. They were
considerably rarer than today, but that was good for two reasons: they were an infrequent, yet welcome, programming change, and, because there was more time to work on them, they were of exceptionally high quality.
I still remember the first special I watched on TWC: "Force Four" hosted by Marshall Sease in 1989 about Hurricane Hugo. It was so well made that I kept that tape for years and years! I wish I still had it, but... my mother had a habit of determining for herself what possessions I did and did not need, and, suffice it to say, I've lost a
lot of stuff over the years simply because
she thought it was unnecessary.
