I'm pretty sure they won't. As much as we'd love the return of the old logo, I just can't see it happening. For them to make a new logo that doesn't match the current branding package, no. Something similar to the current one? Maybe. After all, TWC did use the old one for 23 years, IIRC (with some revisions).

IMO they need to rebrand as just "Weather". It would sell the primary focus on weather, as well as open them up to making a new identity and brand focused on a symbol that would be tied to the weather channel. Something similar to the way the clouds and raindrops are on WUTV, but more professional, but friendly. The Weather Channel as a brand is tainted IMO. If they focus on weather, while still using "The Weather Channel", i don't think it'll make much of a difference.

Just checked with TV Guide and Zap2it online, WUWA is still on TWC into mid Oct. So is WUWA(the program, without Al and Steph. after Fri) continuing until Sam's done with AMHQ?

Stephanie posted a photo collage on Instagram and said this is the last week of WUWA. It seems like we should be hearing about a replacement soon... Or perhaps they'll just do Weather Center Live temporarily while they get things sorted out.

Yep... AMHQ isn't going to be extended until Sam leaves next month, and Stephanie moves down to Atlanta.

It will be interesting to see how the new morning show is configured. Abrams and Cantore would be good together, but all bets are off for who else will be there. I could see Jen Carfagno and Chris Warren coming to AMHQ, and I wonder if they might bring Maria back to weekday mornings (I never understood why they relegated her to weekends.) I just hope Jen Delgado won't be involved... Her shtick goes a long way towards making the current AMHQ unwatchable.

Any thoughts on who might take WCL now?

I taped AL/AMHQ/WCL this morning.  Stephanie was very teary this morning. She must of really loved her 3 years in NYC.  I hope she'll like being back in TWC'S  HQ'S. I wonder if she'll do a WCL or two before AMHQ  starts? This is most likely the  A&B geek in me but it would be nice if she popped into WUTV a time or two just so they can reunite for a moment. Those two had a connection on air since what, 2005? 2006?

Back to what TWC is doing today,  I saw the first Red Mode WCL Intro in I don't know how long at 9PM CT. No Red Mode LDL or LO8 yet.

Hmm... I wonder if these programming changes may bring back the 90-second and 2-minute LF flavors. I'm very doubtful on that possibility, but we may never know what TWC will do next.

The removal of all the information on the sidebar on the HD feed like the air quality forecast and just having the radar and sunrise/sunset featured makes a strong case that TWC is planning on adding those back into the LOT8's in my opinion.

Was anyone up early enough to see what they did from 5-7 ET this morning?

"I didn't leave Good Morning America to do a morning show, I mean why would I do that?"
- Sam Champion

Starting in January, he will finally "fulfill his dream" of having his own primetime program. The longform interview program will air once a week, focusing on climate change and other environmental issues...

OK......I don't have a problem with a once a week longform show hosted by Sam. What I don't get is I thought Sam was going to help TWC back into doing WCL or whatever in primetime. Unless TWC already has OCMs for that? And what's the deal with doing it in  New York?? Didn't WUWA quit because they didn't want that studio anymore? I hope TWC isn't going the other way again!

Tell me about it. Seriously? I thought they were done with long form!!!!!!  :hammer:  :nono:
They better not add more long form throughout the week during prime time is all I have to say!
