Pathetic TWC not showing weather tonight

A major winter Storm is fast approaching the northeast and TWC has decided showing reality crap is better then having the weather on.  For work and my occupation storms are part of the job and we need to know what's up. Granted we can read everything on NWS website and read discussions. But it would be nice to have a weather channel on a TV that actually shows weather and OCMs talking to us and explaining what's going on. I give up on this channel. I gave up long ago, but now that's it.  Oh I long for the days when I could turn on the TWC, especially with a major storm was approaching and I got the weather and a solid local forecast.  Put this station out of its misery already.

We all know TWC shows a lot of long form but even by 2013 standards this is a little unusual. This storm is to bring snow that will need to be shoveled and TWC would usually preempt. I've noticed this "not show weather even though we're getting 18+ inches" thing in the last couple of months. Surprisingly around the time TWC last laid off employees. This is probably the reason as well as the cut back in live programming.

Your right. But you know when you work in emergency services and would like to have the weather channel with their updates and ocm's talking about the storm its helps. We like watching the coverage. Or did. For years the channel has declined we I know, we all know but this is bad. And now I take to Twitter to read meteorologist and amatures state more snow then expected is going to fall now. But hey having that on TV is not important. Then again weather witness you probably work for TWC and helped lead it to the decline we see today.

Excuse me, but this statement is not correct, and there is absolutely no reason for you to jump to such conclusions.    I, too, do not like the direction in which TWC has gone and wish they would provide more coverage.  I don't like all the long-form and the more entertainment-based morning shows.  However, members of these forums have complained and complained about the current state of TWC, and nothing has changed.  And I do not think it will change, unfortunately.

It's perfectly fine to provide your opinion, and I agree with you on what you said.  I was simply suggesting that if you needed weather coverage, you may be able to tune-in to your local stations which would be providing coverage.  It's not like The Weather Channel is the only channel out there which provides weather information.

Weather witness I apologize with my tone and blaming you. Very frustrated with how coverage is BEFORE storm hits. Before local stations start coverage.  Very frustrating a great product was ruined

Pretty sure Greg Postel just said they'll be live from 7-11pm tonight.

There will be a special report from 7-midnight. I'm glad they're coming on for prime time, but you'd think that with an event of this magnitude they would have all hands on deck and be on all day. I mean, this is why TWC exists, isn't it?

You would think. I heard on CNN that this is like a Cat 5 Trop. Storm. Now whether that's true of just CNN hype, IDK. If that's really true, TWC needs a talking too by someone! I don't know who.

It shocks me that TWC's viewing audience hasn't woken up yet and keeps letting TWC get away with longform when there's severe weather to work on. I would think NYC's mayor would have some words for TWC if we watched this PM. Unless he just watched WCL or local news this morning and hasn't tuned in since.

This is in the general thread but TWC is in red mode tonight. They're planning wall to wall coverage. I have not heard when it will start.
