There will be a special report from 7-11. I'm glad they're coming on for prime time, but you'd think that with an event of this magnitude they would have all hands on deck and be on all day. I mean, this is why TWC exists, isn't it?
You would think. I heard on CNN that this is like a Cat 5 Trop. Storm. Now whether that's true of just CNN hype, IDK. If that's really true, TWC needs a talking too by someone! I don't know who.

It shocks me that TWC's viewing audience hasn't woken up yet and keeps letting TWC get away with longform when there's severe weather to work on. I would think NYC's mayor would have some words for TWC if we watched this PM. Unless he just watched WCL or local news this morning and hasn't tuned in since.

What's a category 5 tropical storm? I've never heard of tropical storms having categories. Sounds like CNN hype to me.

Well as much as I and a few of us criticize TWC they were the most accurate of anyone I follow on TV and social media.  Where I am north of nyc they said we would get 2ft +. We got 5-8 and TWC yesterday was actually saying that when everyone else still had us for 24-36inches.  My one problem was that on Sunday TWC should have been on all day informing people and they failed us.  Cantore and there last year blasted Weather Nation and others saying TWC would be here informing us like no one else when storms were coming.  I feel let down. Even though I di t watch them like I used to instill tune in for a big storm.  Especially a day or so before it's predicted to hit. No local channels are going to break from regular TV if the storm is not here.  Seriously TWC and NBC it's time to make changes.

Sadly this is now becoming and standard thing for TWC to no longer cover storms between 12am and 5am ET.

At 12am ET on Feb 2nd they ended storm coverage for reality shows and were not live again till 4am ET.

The same on Feb 8th they were live all day till 11pm ET when they went to reality shows and storm coverage was not back till 5am ET.

While TWC did stay live overnight on the 15th once again at 12am on Feb 17th they went to taped programming and were not covering the active storm again till Wake Up With Al came on.

bumping this after 2 months, TWC is really missing from the action of a major severe weather outbreak in North & Central TX where all the local TV stations in the DFW area is on live nonstop coverage on the storms which includes Tornado Warnings with possible long range tornadoes on the ground. this is  :censored: ing bull  :censored:

i hope for this storm to be deadly so we can blame The Weather Channel's lack of coverage on the deaths of people, who's lives are in jeopardy in this severe thunderstorm/tornado outbreak

BTW, i am not wanting people to die in this, but sometimes death is needed so TWC can have their wake up call.

Seriously?

It does not make sense to me at all to say "if someone died it's the weather channel's fault for not doing coverage."  If someone died, it would have been more like because they were caught at the wrong place and couldn't get shelter and/or not letting themselves be informed about the situation.

While it would be nice to see coverage for a national audience about this situation, I would think and hope that most people in the area threatened would choose local media over the weather channel.

To say weather channel not doing coverage causes deaths is quite ludicrous, IMO.

I'm sorry, but this is one of the most absurd posts I've seen on this board. If you don't like how TWC covers storms find another source. But hoping for more deaths for any reason is just wrong.

According to The Weather Channel's Post Moore Tornado commercial, they said TWC was a valuable recourse that saves lives. So what I think Willh699 is getting at is TWC is not living up to that statement.

While I agree that TWC may not have the most decent coverage out there right now, you gotta face the fact that there are still people that actually disagree. Right now I'm following Invest91L coverage that's gonna hit here in Houston, because all my local media outlets haven't started coverage just yet. I'm surprised that they are throwing all the information they can out there to the people that actually need it. Still, you may want to confirm with your local media, but TWC tries their best to inform citizens affected by weather disasters. I feel they are improving slowly.

The Weather Network is weather 24/7 :)

I definitely miss Mike Bettes though.

I just saw him live at Houston just now.
