Title: Old segment openers being re-used?
Post by: NicoleWasHere on July 26, 2008, 05:23:55 AM
I just saw the opening for Weekly Planner, not too long ago, and they recycled the OLD Weekly Planner opening for the new one!  O_o  Like, it was the old footage, but with new music, and no narration.

I was really shocked, because I didn't have the audio on my TV the first time it played, and I seriously thought they were using the openers from 1998 to 2000-something, again.  <_<

I know what you are talking about.  Yea, they are using the 2003-2005 segment openers for some odd reason.  IIRC- that started happening the weekend after they launched HD, or it could have been before that?  Can somone confirm or deny :P

Yes, Weekend Outlook has indeed been using 2003 Weekend Planner's segment openers. We have yet to even see Weekend Outlook's actual openers. Hopefully, they will fix this when WO relaunches in HD.

They'd have to do something before WO goes HD; the 2003-2005 openers certainly can't be HD. I do wonder, however, if they'll take the cheap way out and just use studio shots at the start of segments and/or on-the-fly openers for the segments. Given the ratings and the treatment they've given the show, they obviously don't care that much. I would think that a responsible network should give every show a proper appearance; what they're doing right now is really irresponsible.

I agree. They need to have the new opener. That is irresponsible.

What show are we discussing again?  All I know is a show called "Weekend Outloo".

You know 2003-2005 was a very popular era for TWC and it was the last era with the old so its not surprising that there using old openers. :D
