New Morning Show: "AMHQ with Sam Champion"

I would give today's show an D-. Really, barely any forecast segments and no 7 Day Forecast and Winter Weather Update? This show is basically a Extension of WUWA with more non-weather segments. It's the WEATHER Channel, not ABC or the Entertainment/Lifestyle Channel. And why they need to hire a News Anchor and a Reporter? They already have MSNBC as their "news" source. Morning Rush and Your Weather Today are  way more better than this show that barely focuses on weather.

Which is exactly my point. I rather have WUWA air 7-11am ET then AMHQ because for WUWA, at least they do the Winter Weather Update and occasionally feature the 7 Day Forecast.

TWC must implement forecast segments such as the 7 Day Forecast on AMHQ and limit the non-weather/lifestyle segments or risk losing more viewers as well as carriage on Cable/Satellite companies.

The first 15 minutes from the 8am hour I watched live I was able to record. However it's a 1GB file so my only option is YT as far as sharing it. I'm uploading it tonight right now. I can post a link for it tomorrow morning.

They used a different opener during the 8am hour which feature each personality individually. Much, much better.

Something I did notice that was different (but only from a quick 1 min glance) was that during the 9am hour, the crew was sitting at a round glass table in highchairs I think... The area they were located seemed like a place where they would conduct live interviews. The 8am hour I saw part of they were sitting at the main desk. I was asleep during the 7am hour so I don't know where they were mainly sitting then.

Also I think I remember Sam mentioning that every hour of the three hour show would be different from each other, I guess he meant the overall general format/content.

Reactions from the 9am hour of the first show,
The promo for AMHQ says "Not just a morning forecast, a morning show." There's your problem summed up.
TWC needs a weather show with forecasts not a broadcast network style morning show.

If the idea is to be a copy of the Today Show then that explains the 9am hour having the least amount of forecast segments than any other live show on TWC.

Yeah the show has only had one broadcast so I'll check out the whole show today for much weather day do in the 7am and 8am hours.

Checking out day two the 7am and 8am hours do have more weather content.
The 9am had 2 blocks with no forecast segments. That has to change.
I still don't believe they need a news and sports anchor. The quick news update from MSNBC was good enough.

“AMHQ” drew 207,000 total viewers and 64,000 A25-54 demo viewers from 7am-10amET, down -12% in viewers and down -14% in the demo from the Weather Channel’s prior four-week average in the timeslot.

If TWC wants to increase their ratings, then they should add more forecast segments such as the 7 Day Forecast and reduce the fluff/non-weather segments

It figures that this would happen if Champion were to get his own show.  He must be bringing the GMA vibe with from GMA; the accompanying news and sports departments add to this effect.  These kinds of shows are already running on the major networks.  Why another one is needed is beyond me.
