Thanks for posting the graphic.  Yep, they're definitely rearranging things and making room for the new IntelliStar HD LDL... whenever it becomes available throughout the whole country.  In the meantime, people are stuck looking at a lot of empty space, I guess.

No me gusta at all folks, I agree fully with Martins quote of screwing us out of the 16:9 image.

To back up on why it appears on long form still: Shows produced in HD after SS's 2009 reappearance have L3rds displaying text in non 4:3-safe areas  ;)

Maybe not. Ill check tomorrow at 3PM but during WWCH the current HD LDL covers up text on the L3rd as well  :hmm:

NO!!! <_< I want my LDL back.

To confirm: This new LDA now replaces ANY LDL on HD except for long-form and is likely been made to make room for the IS2 LDLs?

It would make more sense to have this Left Area on the LDA/LDL combo shows also.

Yeah, maybe they will make a new combo to match this new LDA. And maybe it won't get stuck! :thrilled: :itsok:

OK, so the blank space is for an ad. :D

What I don't understand is what is going to happen with during 16% HD. Can the LDA be local because how can the LDA be on the National Feed but not the Local Feed if a 16% LDL is going to be used with the Local Feed (unless BOTH the 33% and 16% LDLs will be shown WITH the LDA).

The LDA is intended to show national information while the LDL displays local information.

Quick Q: I live outside of Charleston, SC and I have never seen this ldl bar on the left side of my screen. Why is that?

Was the LDA re-added per viewer requests?

I don't get why they even bothered to create a ldl if they were just going to use it for a month

You might be right there, Mike. Now I don't see why viewers would prefer the LDA over the LDL, unless they really like the fact that the LDA provides slightly more information, like a radar.

The small ldl instead of the sidebar is being used during "red" hurricane coverage it looks like.
