I was told techs are working on a new hd video wall today
-
That's cool. I wonder how it'll turn out. :)

I wonder what this new HD video wall will be like and if they'll continue to use the green screens... I like the green screens over a video wall any day.
-
They should just purchase HD LCD TV's that are like 80 inches + and use those with height adjustment stands.
But hey, thats cool :)
-
I hope it's not like what Al uses during WUWA, or what WNBC in New York uses for weather.
-
Will it be ready for use by Weather Center tonight?

Not sure. My producer friend said they wouldn't be using the main studio until 7. They are also fixing a few other things. Guess we shall see
-
I hope it's something like the first video wall, not just some 70" flat screen, touch screen television like Al's in NYC.

Most definitely. The green screen gives a more clear picture. I think it is kind of pointless to be watching TV, and have the weather person stand in front of another (big) TV.
A station here went HD a few months ago and has been using a big video projection wall for some segments, and it looks horrible.
-
Uh, they already have a video wall...so where is this one going?
-
So the new HD wall is premiering at 7 ET?

nobody said that

I think you got us a little confused when you said this post Martin:

Also, is this new wall going to be in the same place where the old one was? I also hope it's not the one Al uses, and that they won't use the crappy handheld cameras that would make the video shaky.

Oh, sorry, I misread that. :)

Same thing I want to know, Mike. Have they been removing/changing the original behind our backs?

Al's is more like 100" or more.

Whoops sorry about that. I know only as much as I said. Sorry :/ Here is the exact wording I got
"they're here working on our receiver systems - and a new HD wall - so we're pretty much down for the count until 7pm"
-
Is there a possibility that the HD wall could be ready in the next few days, or will it take longer than that?
-
Have they finished putting in the new HD wall? I'm noticing the video wall is a lot clearer and crisper when Chris stood in front of the video wall tonight.

Might be. I went back and looked and it does indeed look better. Was PME in the HD studio today?
