I was just looking at the Storm Stories site (http://www.weather.com/aboutus/television/stormstories/) on weather.com, and they're running a quite amusing poll asking "How many nights a week do you watch Storm Stories?"
As soon as I saw that, I chuckled, because first off, Storm Stories doesn't run at night anymore, secondly, after viewing the results, the majority of voters (38%) chose None. One and Three are nearly tied with 18%, and Five and Seven are slightly lesser amounts (with 8% and 16%, respectively).
If the majority of people who visit the site don't watch the show, I believe it's safe to say TWC should cancel it. :whistling: It'd be really nice to have the 2:00 PM ET hour of programming back.
-
Nobody watches it because it's on a time that people won't be able to see it. If they move it back to evenings, maybe ratings would go up.
-
I doubt it. I don't think many people watched it at nighttime either.
-
Well, they're still going to syndicate it to see if they can generate interest, but if there isn't interest after that, we might see it gone for good.
-
I hope it's gone for good. I used to like the earler shows but the recent ones have gone downhill
-
I miss JIm Cantore voicing. They replaced it by soneone and the graphics rn't good anymore
-
Worst of all, the guy who narrates never gives the date or time of day
-
Yeah. The guy only gives the Place, While Jim does the date and when
-
I think Storm Stories was a successful show, and if it wasn't, TWC wasted a lot of money one making new ones. But, I think is all just started getting old, and similar stories played over and over again.
That poll is EXTREMELY old though :P I remember taking that a long time ago. And besides, it isn't accurate, because you can go right back and vote again
-
Storm Stories isn't that bad of a show. It's definitely a lot better than Boring Conditions and CrappyVentures among their other newer shows.

That's why those shows don't show 7 days a week, and never have new shows
Btw..lets call them by the real name..those names are kind of lame :whistling: The only made up name that works is Storm Bories :P
-
I used to like the earlier episodes of SS. The newer episodes stunk. Plus most of them are about Hurricane Latrina
-
That's Katrina. :whistling:
Anyway, I didn't mind SS too much until they gave it more spinoffs than Law & Order.
-
Well first off, I haven't seen Storm Storied (period) since June, so I was not aware that they had a new narrator or anything like that.
Second, I don't watch it at all (obviously).
Third, I was at Costco the other day and saw the Storm Storie collector DVD's. Only $13. :rofl2:
-
I haven't been watching Storm Stories as much even though Iike the show. One episode I like that hasn't been shown in a few years is the 1hour Hurricane Andrew episode.
-
I also liked the earlier episodes. My favorite being Hurriane Andrew, and the Belleville, Illinois Tornado, also the La Plata, MD Tornado. I also like the OKC and Xenia tornadoes too. The Katrina episode wasn't that baad either
-
I liked the La Plata one too (but only cause I'm a Marylander :P ).
-
I suppose it's worth noting that the poll and the original Storm Stories website I linked to in the first post is now gone; the link redirects to weather.com/tv. Storm Stories still does have a website (http://www.weather.com/tv/programs/stormstories.html?from=tv_welc_mainpreview2), but it's nowhere as extensive as their previous site.

You mean Belvidere. ;)
-
I liked the La plata, MD tornado and HUrricane Jeanne episodes. I like that one episode where three hurricanes struck a lion sanctuary in Florida.
-
I liked the Hurricane Frances one with the Tiger Santuary and Hurricane Andrew, and Hurricane Mitch and Hurricane Opal (My favorite episode)
-
I Don't Watch Storm Stories

Yea, my bad :whistling: :blushing:
I don't know why I liked that one. Maybe because it had to do with school, and was in Illinois, just like the tornado I experienced..

Well since my cable company got rid of a lot of stations on my basic cable I have the weather channel on a lot more.
