All the hype has kinda worn some of the excitement off for me
As is the case with pretty much any other show TWC has advertised since late 2002.

Especially Storm Stories. I've seen that intro before every local forecast I've watched since February.  <_<

Not as much as during the first season. From late 2002-September 2003, they played nothing but the Storm Stories LF opener weekdays from 5 AM-8 PM, except when TWC was in Alert Mode (later Storm Alert), which would preempt the show. The First Outlook and Your Weather Today LOT8's openers almost never played during this time frame as a result.

Agreed. I am getting very annoyed with te Storm Stories Intros. There are three of them, but they often play only one, and can for several hours straight, as is the case with my Houghton Lake XL videos. The night that I was up there (4/5-6 Overnight), I don't recall seeing any intros (except two or three including the storm LOT8's opener) other than the same Storm Stories one until the mid-morning on 4/6.

I have to agree Martin, who is going to be around to watch the live stream.  I'm in school during that time so i know I won't be able to catch it.  :(

There's normally not much action to do a live stream about from 12-2 PM anyway.  Most of the severe weather occurs in the late afternoon to evening as been proven over and over by scientific studies.  Fortunately, today is going differently from the norm as a line of severe storms is ripping through southern Missouri right now, and there have been numerous severe weather reports pouring into SPC over the past few hours.  I hope Mike is giving his live stream report there to kick off Vortex 2 in style.

That area of severe weather does not appear tornadic to me. It just looks like damaging winds, possibly hail, and copious amounts of rain due to the size of the complex. If only that could all come through Lansing!   :bleh:

Aaron, there's already been a few tornado reports listed on SPC from the severe weather today.  This cluster has already proven capable of producing a few small tornadoes, and we're not in the evening yet when things could get more intense.  Don't assume that any area of severe weather is unable to be tornadic. :whistling:

I hope someone was able to give Mike pictures of the damage so far.  Two people have already died today from a tree falling on a car, causing the car to catch on fire with the two people trapped inside.  Here's my source to prove everything I said above:  http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/reports/090508_rpts.html
