Though I don't have it yet, I have no quarrels with what I see or what the video mentions. Chalk this one up to "evolutionary" website changes, and not "revolutionary" new design.

Here is what TWC Studios look like during Severe Weather Coverage with RED in the background.

Well, 4 years later and the lights finally come on!  :bleh: Kinda.

The satellite LDL is still peeking over the IntelliSTAR LDL, which has been going on for months now. Anyone have any idea when they might fix this glitch?

Don't plan on it being fixed. We notice it, because we pay attention to graphics details. The average viewer doesn't notice it, and even if they did, 9 changes out of 10 they wouldn't care.

As of today, they have replaced the big touchscreen video wall in the NYC Studio with a smaller touchscreen LCD TV. It looks better but I wish they would use a green screen in NYC.

New York needs an actual studio and not some corner room.

I'd like to see the SD feed (which I believe still has a place in the world for now) displayed in a manner like FNC's SD channel-letterboxed. It'd make graphics presentation a heck of a lot easier.

Not really a fan of this format at all. I'd rather see hard work go into:
-professional-quality show openers (unified theme)
- "          "     "      "  segment openers (unified theme)
-weekly planner graphics overhaul (no coverflow, please. And no bleh-looking moving cloud background, please).

Maps are something that I personally think don't need that much "flair"-it just distracts the viewer. It doesn't need to be sparse, a great title bar, key, icons, and cities look great. But all the "junk" around it here just doesn't work for me.

Am I the only one who thinks the 10-11am program hour really shouldn't be branded as Wake Up With Al? Jen and Mike opened the show with Jim Cantore and Eric Fisher doing live reports. I just think it would be better branded as YWT, DP, or another show.

The whole point of that hour if I'm not mistaken is for West Coast viewers, it would make more sense to just have it shown at 10am only if they're that worried about getting west coast viewers.

The aim is definitely West Coast viewers (myself and anyone west of me). However, why is it branded WUWA when Al wasn't even on once during the hour? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Patrick, possibly a color mod for the number, brackets, messages link, or all 3 when a message is in the inbox?

I mean just look at how PM Edition got shafted for a pointless extra hour of WeatherCenter Live.

It added another pointless hour to WCL, sure, but that could also be seen as a "pointless" show that could simply be better assimilated into another show, like it was.

I'm very confused about the new YWT openers now.  It looks like they have two: one with A&B and one without.  Do A&B not host all 3 hours (or however long it is) of YWT?

Here's a video I found on YT, courtesy of ImBoredIIDeath, showing the A&B opener.  I much prefer the "production music" used for the other generic opener.

Your Weather Today Relaunch: April 16, 2012

EDIT: Sorry Tavores, I didn't see your previous post on this.  But still, why are there two versions?  It's possible A&B only do like the first hour or two of YWT.

Agreed, I definitely prefer the music track used for the "generic" opener. I also prefer the headlines track used in the generic opener (as seen during the 9am ET opener yesterday).

Wake Up With Al Relaunch - April 16, 2012

Man, I can't get over how attractive those graphics are. Like, these and YWT's are the most attractive I've seen since 2003-2005, IMO. They're so clean and professional looking. They bring the human element back into it! And the music really fits, IMO. I just really wish that this "theme" eventually crosses over to the other shows. It's a great look.

Indeed it is, but they don't give a crap about any other shows besides their precious YWT and WUWA. (and WCL to an extent.) It comes off as very selfish that they put all the work and effort into those shows, but they don't bother to do anything with the others. It makes it look tacky to have show graphics from 2008 mixed in with show graphics from 2012. They need to do an entire relaunch of all the shows.

I disagree with the line in your statement I bolded. It's not selfish if it's their own network. In the long run, the only people they are "hurting" are themselves by  not having a unified, cohesive brand and image. Yes, it looks tacky, and I agree that they should relaunch. However, selfish is not the appropriate word. I know that I would not appreciate it if, after putting hours and hours of legitimate hard work into two shows that pull in huge ratings numbers for my network, someone had the audacity to call me "selfish" for solidifying a core and base I can build off of. I'm sure the other shows will get theirs in due time. If they don't, it's the channel's own loss.
