You guys just don't seem to get, no matter how hard we drill it into your thick skulls, that WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS VIRUS AND ARE LEARNING EACH DAY. Its great that they think its not as potent as once thought, but until now WE DIDN'T KNOW THAT.
Its not that I don't agree with you.. The virus is a threat since we dont know much about it. I'm just irritated over how the information is being told to the public

HJow else would you want it told to us?  :dunno:
My thought exactly.  What do you want them to say?  I really don't think the media has over-done their coverage.  But I would agree that the media might have caused some kind of panic.

Today is TWC's 27th birthday. B)  I wonder if they'll even mention it on the air today.
I don't remember them mentioning their anniversary other than in 2002 and 2007. Although during their last SD broadcast Vivian did mention that they've been broadcasting in SD for 26 years.
Wow, it took me 3 times to read that and understand it (the First sentence)  I thought it said" I don't remember them mentioning it in 2002 and 2007".  dur duh dur

I wouldn't think they would make mention of it.  It's just 27..haha

Okay, H1N1 is just the normal flu, which is why it is being called H1N1.  Also, normal flu cases ALWAYS get sent in for testing, so therefore, it's just the normal flu.  Health Departments are shutting/threatening to shut down schools because of the normal flu.  BS

I am sorry, but this is not the normal flu.  Sure, it may be a little less threatening than the media or whoever is saying it is, and it could be much worse.  It is NOT KNOWN.  This is a NEW disease, and some of you on here are not understanding that,  and I am sure more and more doctors are learning something new about it every day.  This is probably why the name has been switched from  "swine" to "H1N1".  Obviously this has to be bigger than the normal flu.  Is it being taken out of proportion?  Sure, in some cases it probably is.

American Media is terrible period.
You think everything in America is terrible, so that is no surprise. :)

The ABC afilliate here has decided to call it by it's "official" name, H1N1, so there is no confusion about pork products possible having "swain" flu, or something like that.

There are currently 11 possible cases of swain flu in my county.

Felix and Jonathan,
Please do not take any offense to this (as none is intended), but I think you two are overreacting to all of this. Sure, TWC has made practically HUNDREDS of changes that I most certainly do not agree with and do not like. Namely, the Intellistar background, the icons, A&B non-existant anymore, etc. But it seems a little far-fetched to quit your interest in TWC completely. I know I couldn't do it, since I have been watching TWC probably since I started grade school in '98, and I just have too much wrapped up in them.
THANK YOU!!!!

It's ONE hour.  If you don't want to watch Al's show, then don't.  It's really that simple.  And that hour is in the early morning hours.

I honestly thing you people are overreacting to just 1 hour   Honestly, I don't think it is that big of a deal.  It is probably too early for some of you. I know I will just be getting up when the show is over.  It isn't going to be that big of a deal.  I love how ONE, one hour show will get you guys to say "IM DONE WATCHING TWC!"  It's seriously rediculous.  Yes, I am on the rant wagon..sorry.

Also, Abrams and Bettes has not been a big ratings grabber (iirc), so I am sure that if A&B get split up, it really won't cause that much of an alarm.  If A&B were such a good pair, and had a good show, (don't get me wrong, I think they do, but ratings say otherwise) they won't split them up.  Of course, we don't even know if they will or not yet.

So, just take a deep breath, life will go on, I promise  :P  (wow..I am being an ass, my apologies)

I think there is some overreaction, but I do think some concern is warranted-but NOT panic. I think the government, thus far, is doing a fine job of handling this situation. They've made it clear thatwe should be concerned, but not panicked. And they've done a fine job in getting the ball rolling on getting medication to the states, and on issuing travel advisories and monitoring passengers arriving to the country.

I just heard on the news a little while ago that there are at least 2 severe cases of swine flu in our country at this point, and they suspected that those cases will likely turn deadly. So we may finally be seeing this flu beginning to really ratchet up.
 I completely agree.

I just stated my opinion in "The Front Porch"

Here's my opinion about the swine flu.

The media is what is worrying most people, like always.  But, it's their job to do so (for lack of a batter word) (i know that sounds bad, but it is, basically).  I really don't think they are going over-the-top just yet.  But each time they report on it (at least the local news), I always hear something different, and they don't repeat the same thing, which is good.  It is a cause for concern though, as it is deadly.  The first US death has been reported.  A 2 year old in TX died.

I am most definitely NOT getting tired of it, in fact, I think it is really interesting to follow.  I like learning about it, for some reason.  I really am not THAT concerned in getting it, but I am just being cautious, but not taking dramatic steps.  Definitely washing my hands more often, and basic stuff you should do.

Sorry to say, but you're going to end up with sleeping if you are already tired of hearing about swine flu, it's only the beginning. (:P-- lame joke).
