I have not heard of any person who DID NOT like Walter Cronkite.  Definitely a Journalism legend.  RIP

That has got to be the DUMBEST idea in the world.  Makes no sense at all.  But, look who it's coming from, NBC, who has the BEST ideas ever.

Biggest Loser... is the only show I like on that network :D haha
Because they are America's Biggest Loser! :P
true story.  But, The Biggest loser is definitely not the big loser when it comes to ratings.  On certain nights, they beat out American Idol.

FYI-  As I was typing this, I was watching the local news, and they were tali\king about Michael Jackson, and I typing out Michael instead of American Idol. :P

I must say that I actually like the Wake Up studio. It reminds me of the old WV studio, in a way. Sad to see the city backdrop go, though.
I agree. I like the set.  It is very interesting.  But I am also a little upset the city backdrop is gone.  It was very neat looking, and I liked that view.  Oh well.

"The show combines weather, news and entertainment and includes live news headlines from MSNBC, live weather and climate-related business stories from CNBC, weather forecasts, top weather stories of the day and the beloved Local on the 8s weather forecasts."

Wonder what "live headlines" means <_<

It said NEWS headlines..so I am assuming its what it means :P  Sorry.. I am an ass..haha.

But seriously, news headlines on a weather show?  No thanks.  I know on Facebook I saw a comment on TWC's fan page saying "If I wanted to see Al in the morning, I'd watch the TODAY show."  I 100000% agree!!  If we wanted to see the news, we'd watch the CABLE NEWS NETWORK!!  I know I've kept quiet about the WUWA, and anything TWC lately, because honestly, it doesn't matter to me, as I RARELY watch TWC any more.

I am going to laugh is Wake Up With Al is completely dead.  I will also laugh if it is a big hit...

I haven't used AOL in ages
I ditched AOL dial-up back in 2004. It was really slow, and their customer service sucked.
I agree. I could not stand AOL..at all.

Now I get to mow the lawn :D..yay.  too bad I have 3 :(

Also..tomorrow I start my "new" job.  I will work for the same company, just a different store.  Instead of working 10-15 minutes away from my house, I have to work 20-30 minutes away, in Iowa..uggh. ah well, I get a raise for it $_$ :D

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Cheryl Lemke
« on: July 12, 2009, 11:22:23 AM »
Really? Why?
I am not sure why.  I think it was to spend more time with her family?  I know in the article it mentioned that she has been offered the chief meteorologist position on a number of ocassions, but wasn't sure if she wanted to continue in tv broadcasting, or something like that.

So do I. I think she'd go great if she works at WBZ in Boston...maybe far but Mish works there.
Actually, I am pretty sure I read somewhere that either at the end of last month, or at the end of this month, Mish was leaving WBZ

I've also seen her featured on "Medialine.com"... a site for people to post their resume and tapes.

Congratulations! :D
I am starting my meteorology studies this fall, and cannot wait!

Are you looking for a job as a broadcast meteorologist, or more National Weather Service work?

Everything Else TWC / Re: The Blue Bar of Death Discussion
« on: July 08, 2009, 10:48:07 AM »
Hmm, I just thought of this. While I know you all think the blue bar is a waste of space and pointless, but what is it really covering?  Nothing.  It is not blocking any of the maps at all (most of the time). All it covers is the OCM's legs, which you wouldn't see if the OCM was at the key wall.  Just saying..

Here's the video I got from yesterday evening during the 6:30pm newscast!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sst1Pv8r_IA#

Thanks! I really miss him. Is it me or did his hair go gray?

Yes.  It was actually like that toward the end of his tenure at The Weather Channel.  If you remember, a few years back (not sure how long ago), Dave had not been seen on the Weather Channel for a while, and it was speculated that he was batteling cancer (not positive if it was ever confirmed though)
