Is TWC in Storm Alert??

I was told that Storm Alert music is played whenever a Hurricane Watch/Warning is in effect for any part of the US (which it is). I am on vacation in ATL so I haven't really gotten a chance to turn on the TV.

Thanks  B)

Storm Alert is now only used on TWC if a MAJOR hurricane (Cat. 3 or higher) is expected to hit the U.S. Alex will likely not become a major hurricane. ;)

Who said that?  Last I checked, I thought they only needed a landfalling storm.  Anyone remember Tropical Storm Alberto? :D

Yeah, I do agree that some the Top 40 artists today are overrated, although I like listening to the Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West (Prior to 2008), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Maroon 5, Nelly, and Blink 182.

Underrated favorites: Anything jazz (smooth, straight-ahead, classic, etc.), rock groups such as The Hives, The Flaming Lips, The Fratellis, The Strokes; indie/alternative rap artists: Talib Kweli, Plan B, Foreign Exchange, A Tribe Called Quest, among others; plus a few oldies as well as Bob Marley, mon. B)

Gulty Pleasures: Anything I listed in the Underrated section.

Black Eyed peas have 7 songs on my iPod; what a great band.

My guilty pleasure: dare I say it on this board and as a male, Ke$ha :P.  your love is my drug is a great song to jog to :P

A classic example is the Head on ad. xD

I completely forgot about HeadOn.  Do they even make that crap anymore?

The commercial may be crap, but HeadOn actually works.  It does relieve headaches (or it could have just been in my head :P )

Definitely good news it is not headed to the US.  We do not need anything or anyone messing with that oil spill other than BP!

The water is really warm there, and it does look like it might slow down a little, giving it some more time to develop.  We will have to see what he decides to do after he gets into the Gulf of Mexico.

The tropical update music is starting to get stuck in my head   I think that is kind of what they might want :P

Also, I think Dr. Rick Knabb is a great replacement for Dr. Steve Lyons.  He seems to be very knowledgable and I look forward to his coverage throughout this season.

It will be interesting to see what Alex does in the Gulf of Mexico.  I had not had time to watch TWC in the last few days and on Thursday I had a visit with the local National Weather Service and he said that models had a hurricane coming in next week! I was surprised hearing that.  However, with the track it is going (if it does go straight down the middle), I think that the chances of Alex becoming a hurricane are slim, but it could happen with those warm tropical waters.

Definitely going to be an interesting if this affects the oil spill.

It's possible that TWC wants to beat FOX News and CNN for being #1 network pertaining to the BP oil spill.
Maybe.  Who knows why they would choose to show he BP oil spill specil.

I do not think TD 1 inset is necessary.  Yes, it is headed to the Gulf, but it is a depression!

I managed to get through my first year of college without an all nights.  I think I stayed up til 1AM countless nights, but actually got decent sleep.

Now that  I am taking summer classes, I have had two all nighters, staying up til 4, 5 AM and waking up at 7AM.. NOT FUN!  My sleep schedule is so screwed up right now, and I hate it.  Thank god I have 4 more days of my in school summer class (still have a month left of my online summer class :( )

I find it really odd that she has decided to be on-air with her married name.  You would think that someone who is such a familiar face would want to stick with the same name.  The only time I have heard of someone changing their name, is when they switch stations.  Interesting.

Kim Perez, Kim Cunningham, Kim WHATEVER, she is still a good Meteorologist :)

Her and Adam Berg make a good team together.

EDIT: speaking of my stupid online class, i can't access the website..how am I supposed to get the work done if the website is down.  ugh.
Hang in there man. :)

Wow Ana.... the continuous 2 week squalls you had in El Centro seem to be over :P
Haha, thanks Martin.  I'm hangin' in there.

I will feel better once they are done and I NEVER have to take them again (well..at least Sociology :P )

Out of curiosity, who voted a 9?
Haha I was curious as well :P
I know who, as they have told me, but they have asked to remain anonymous. The reasons they gave have already been mentioned in the thread by others.

I'm the third insane lunatic to rate it a seven as well.
I wouldn't say insane lunatic :P.  The reason's that were backed up for the 7's were well backed up.

Amazing how most Americans are uninterested in the World Cup compared to the rest of the world
I know, isn't it.  A co-worker was commenting on how dissappointed he was when watching it.  It was hyped to be sooo awesome, and yet it wasn't.  He said when he watched it, the players did not make it out to be a big deal.
