I love Dwyer and Michaels...but c'mon, Alexandra Steele Number 1? Seriously.

The international meteorologists almost look set-up.  Thanks for sharing the link, though.  Nice to see some TWC meteorologists on there.

I am not all too surprised.  I am a little surprised, because from what I understood, the segment was pretty popular.  I did not liek the segment at all.  I felt it was awkward between the two hosts, and had nothing to do with weather. Of course, that was the one time I actually saw the segment, so I can't judge too much.

I hope Mark has something else to do with TWC, he seems pretty good.

Sidenote:  what is "DM" (I am obviously not a twitter-er, tweeter, whatever. :P )

Burger King's Breakfast commercials.  First of all, the food does not look appetizing what-so-ever, and the "tunes" the people sing are annoying.

I did not get a laptop until I graduated high school.  I didn't have a cell phone until I was a sophomore in high school.  Now I see kids walking home from elementary school with their cellphones; texting and talking while walking.  It's almost sad.
And that list Alex posted also makes me sad.  When I was younger, I wanted a new bike, or a new pair of rollerblades, maybe a Hot Wheel car or two, or three or four :P.  Oh well, I guess it is just a sign of the times.

These winds are CRAZY.  Last night during the 10 o'clock news, a Tornado Watch was issued.  High wind warnings rae in effect right now, with winds possible gusting 40 to 60mph.  Should be an interesting day.

Here's an article on NBC's Weather Channel Revamp Forecasts Strong Chance of Less Weather

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/live-feed/nbcs-weather-channel-revamp-forecasts-32414

Just think, before I went to college for my broadcast meterology degree, I thought the Weather Channel was my dream job......yeah not so much..

I lost that dream 5, even 6 years ago.  The Weather Channel does not seem like a great place to work.  Maybe behind the scenes..

Physics is very rewarding once you understand it.  I love it.  I get a rush when I figure out a problem.  It also helps that my Trig class is also using physics-type problems, so it keeps the physics juices flowing.

Hopefully all midterms went well for everyone.  I had one last week, and have two more this week.  Hard to believe there is only half a semester left, which means I am a fourth closer to being out of community college :) haha, not that it's a bad thing.  In fact, I recommend it, especially for students who have no idea what they want to do with their life.

It rained here for the first time in 20 days.  Kind of a nice sight.  And speaking of Al's situation with tornadoes, there is a Tornado Watch out just southwest of my area.

Are you sure that discoloration isn't just part of the graphic and not a faint line?

From Carl Parkers Facebook:

Sammy George: Saah hey carl i was wondering how come you are not using the hd walls and why are you using the green screen and when will they return the hd wall monitors (big Screen)

Carl Parker: we're not sure whether this is temporary or not
Don't always believe in what the OCMs say. You're better off waiting until Tyler or Martin get something from a source that's much more reliable. B)
I am pretty sure it is not part of the graphic.  I was able to notice it, a lot, when they would do their forecasts from the video wall.

I loved trick-or-treating when I was little, then at about 13 I stopped. Then around 15 or 16 I started going with friends again, but not dressing up. Then I dressed up for senior year in high school, but didn't trick-or-treat.

Oh, btw, Halloween in college is completely different. :P Guys all try to dress up and go as a theme (That 70s Show, the Flintstones, etc), and girls are usually dressed slutty. There's often themes like "CEOs and Business Hoes," "Romeo and Juliet," etc. And instead of candy, there's jello shots and jungle juice.
Ah, Halloween, where girls do not get bashed for being a slut :P.  I stopped dressing up when I was 15, after that it was just a chill night with friends, or I have had to work.  This year, I am visiting my best friend at college..should be a good time.

Trick-or-Treating has always been popular with my family.  When I was younger my cousins and I would go over to Iowa on Oct 30 (that's when they did trick-or-treating), and go over to 3 or 4 different neighborhoods on Oct. 31st.  My neighborhood is HUGE..so we see a lot of kids on Halloween.

I am looking more forward to the candy sales on November 1st :)

Lightning Rod is a joke. They answer one question and play it every hour during Weather Center. Couldn't they at least mix it up? And like Matt previously said, the woman on Lightning Rod is a horrible anchor.
Yeah, I am not a fan.  I don't really understand the point of the segment.  But, apparently it is popular.  What ever floats TWC's boat (or what ever pays their bills :P )

From what I understand, there is nothing wrong with the video wall.  I noticed that they used it over the weekend on Weekend View for the 60 second newscast.  I know a couple people have mentioned they are using it for segments like that.

I personally like the chroma-key better.  Graphics are more clear on the chroma-key.

Happy Columbus Day, everyone!  Yeah, I know it doesn't really feel like a holiday even though it is one of the ten officially recognized by the government every year.  I was even working today regardless, but I do get holiday pay for it.

Its South of the Market Patrick
Thanks.  I can never keep all these titles and artist names straight.  I end up remembering songs from memory of the rhythms and melodies that I've heard.
Happy National Coming Out Day as well
There must be a National...... Day every day.
Very true.  I had a math teacher in high school that had a calender with all the national "holidays."  Kind of interesting
