I would also tune into a local news station when severe weather occurs in my area.  However, I am glued to The Weather Channel when there is a severe weather outbreak elsewhere in the nation.  The Weather Channel does a fine job covering severe weather as it is happening (especially when Dr. Forbes is in).  They also have phenominal coverage of the aftermath of some of the bigger events (i.e. St. Louis, Alabama, Joplin etc.).

Severe weather sells, no matter what kind it is.  I am pretty sure stats have been posted on this message board about ratings after blizzards and hurricanes.  People tune in.  I can understand why they call themselves "The Severe Weather Authority." (when they are on air covering it..)

Back to the braces/wisdom teeth thing.  Make sure after you get your braces off to WEAR YOUR RETAINER!  It's annoying, but it does wonders.  However, keep an eye on your teeth after your wisdom teeth are removed.  I had my tops removed around your age (12 or 13) before braces, so my teeth would not move after having braces.  However, I had my bottum wisdom teeth removed last summer, which, in turn, moved by bottom teeth, which means that along with my permanent retainer (goes across 6 of my bottum teeth), I have to wear a full retainer on the bottum at night.  Already, I have noticed a change, and the teeth that were out of place are nearly in place because of this retainer.  So, in short, WEAR THE RETAINER(S)!

Braces are 110% worth the time, if you take care of your teeth after having them removed.

Speaking of members on TWC, I saw Martin's question about sunscreen air on Your Weather Today yesterday.

I haven't watched TWC all weekend or today as well. Have they done anything else to the Global Fcts Center yet?
Not that I am aware.  Dr. Forbes was in the "Digital Media Center" doing severe weather updates, so maybe they are working on it.

So, I assume most of y'all are on summer vacay now? I have a week to spend! I don't get my final grades till Monday. So I'm practically nervous. :S

I wish.  I started summer courses last week, one of which is Calculus I, which I dropped last semester because I had a horrible prof.  Seems to be going better this time around, I have a test tomorrow so after this post I'm grabbing a cup of coffee and hittin' those problems.  My other class is a weight-lifting class.  I only need one credit after calc to get my degree, so I figured what the hell?  Might as well doing it and get buff (HA!!..right).  At least physically fit.

Hope you all have a great summer and ENJOY!

I noticed as well.  It'll be interesting to see what happens.  I am really glad that they are still using the old studio on-air.

Danielle Banks and Ryan Goswick on WN. Interesting pairing, mainly because they're both freelancers (I believe.)
Danielle is cracking me up with some of these things she's saying. "Down in Savannah its hot, where my favorite Chef Paula Dean is. She'd be saying give me a stick of butter honey, but it be melting today" All in Paula's southern accent.  :rofl2:
Danielle Banks is a hoot.  Glad we are seeing more of her.

I really want to see how TWC and their stubborn and arrogant entertainment/reality agenda are going to handle the hurricane season, if it is as active as predicted.
I am sure that in the case of a US landfall, they will preempt programming.

Please don't be race into this. NBC isn't going to keep Vivian just because she is black and to fill some "quota." Bring race into it again and warnings will be issued. Grow up people.
Agreed.  It's 2011, people.

Vivian is a fantastic meteorologist, and very professional.  I am a big fan of watching her and Nick together on Day Planner.

Oh my, I definitely would call an exterminator about the Black Widows. They always made webs in my garage at my old house, and they scare the heck out of me.

What also scares the heck out of me is wisdom teeth surgery. I thought I would be spared from them, but today my dentist found 4 that will grow in, and she recommended that I get them out ASAP. (I'm in my 20's and they're just now showing up.) If any of you have had wisdom teeth removal, what was your experience with it? I'm mostly scared of the IV and the swelling and bruising that will inevitably follow. That and all the anxiety beforehand. Ugh.
I have had my wisdom teeth removed.  Trust me, it is not as bad as you think.  I had horrible anxiety getting them out.  In my case, I only swelled a little, and I never bruised.  Also, please heed the doctor's instructions about foods to eat/not eat after getting them removed.  Dry-sockets, I hear, are extremely painful.

Gas for my car.  First time I have paid under $50.00 for who knows how long!  However, my gas guage is broken, so I have to estimate when I need gas, which has only screwed me over once.  So, it is possible that I had more gas than I had thought.

Poor Maria.  That's the worst possible thing that can happen to an on-air person :P.

We have VIZRT at the station I work at, and it is indeed a piece of crap.  Always screwing things up, not communicating with the other machines and making life horrible :P.

Bleh that sucks. Haven't been asked yet but I am sure its only a matter of time
Same here.  I know some people who are my age that have been asked TWICE before I've even been asked.  I guess "ask" really isn't the proper word :P.

Yes, congrats to all Class of 2011 graduates.  I graduate my community college tonight. However, I do not get my degree until I complete 5 more credits by August :P.  Can't wait to move onto the next chapter in my life next school year! :)

It was sad graduating from high school.  However, if I had the chance to go back, I wouldn't.  After high school, I believe you figure out who your true friends are and even who you are yourself.

Also, this really doesn't have much to do with HS, just kind of a sidenote, but since graduating, 3 of my former classmates have died, several in trouble with the law, and one of whom I was real good friends with my junior year was on the top 10 most wanted list here locally.  It's crazy how people change after high school.
