This video's gone again, and the audio sounds garbled every few seconds.
Have you checked the oil?

In responce to mobile spots, all of TWC mobile spots after 2007 were in HD, just down converted. Both TWC mobiles are HD. Now, when TWC does coverage in remote places they usualy use local media mobiles which 9 times out of 10 are HD.

One exception is when it's done via satellite broadband, thats done with an HD camera, but again, severly downgraded via the SD downconversion and the obvilious Broadband connection.

Hey Folks,

Sorry for being away for so long, just spent a long time in Calgary visiting Shaw. I'm now home, but formatting my laptop once I push "Post" and moving back to Windows XP. See you all on the other side!

Everything with the exception of Evening Edition, and Abrams & Bettes; everything else blows!

The severe updates are done on another set, but using the same control room as before (which was made HD a year or so ago, it is a scalled down by half version of a regular control room)

Groove Addicts is a (a library, not the only one) library used by TWC.

1 - Wow what a weird choice of words.
2 - Seriously? A bit old for that, aren't I?
3 - Yes, there is currently no publically official information available yet, except for a post on Eastern US Wx forums. I just thought it would be of best interest that you guys might like to know something big before it was officially announced to the public.

The post on EasternUSwx was jumping the gun. nothing is official. I saw that post, and I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it.

You are a bit old for that, but that's yet to stop you.  ;)

If you want to help us, there are a couple of things you can do. First, quit rubbing in our faces that you have insider info about this (which you don't-EasternusWX is not insider info). Wait until you have some substantiative info, then tell us. don't you think I watch the press releases and news reports for this stuff?
Not to mention, that on those forums, the first post mentioning the sell, was posted on "May 31 2008, at 09:11 AM"... I've scanned through Newsblues my self and have found nothing about this.

Gil, the media doesn't take off on weekends. This is a major story. The media would be allover it like flys on dung.
I do! :P

Yeah, I've searched all credible sources and there are no reports of an NBCU takeover.
I just checked behind the stove, I can't find anything either. :(

Thanks Gary!

It's the kind of thing where it took like 15 minutes to hoist it in to the rack, and screw it in to the rack, and now that it doesn't work, it just seems like such a HUGE production to take it out, just to replace a fan / add a fan, ugh!

By the way, I finally got unlimited data on my BlackBerry and decided to visit TWC Today, mobile... Tracked back the URL and found out it was a special address, here is what TWC Today looks like on a mobile device:

Kyle, I had complimented on them at your YouTube page, but I must say again... outstanding job with this creation!  Keep up the great work!
Yes, thank you for the positive comments. :)

About the quality of the videos, as most of you know I have basically a TV station control room in my house so I have a lot of equipment that is used in video servers and such. When ever I capture TWC stuff it is always a digital capture vs. what most of you capture, analog. You guys capture TWC from your DirecTV / Dish satellite receiver / cable box while I capture TWC from a Motorola Digital Satellite Receiver and pull in the feed at 100% NTSC (720 X 480) quality from the DSR to a server via Gigabit Ethernet, the only reduction in quality happens if / when I edit a clip, but even then it only looses about 1%, maybe 2% of its original quality.

I just mounted a new system in to my "tower of power" - ( It's just a server rack that runs off of 12 outlets. :P ) The system I put in was a MPEG encoding system... Within' having the system on for 2 minutes, the system core was up to 84°C / 183.2° F... The system then turned off, and wont come back on with out over heating. :P

Crap, I forgot to tell Chris about that. I should get that sent by tomorrow (but probably won't see action until the weekend afterward at the earliest).
How often to do bug this guy exactly?
