AMC 10 and AMC 11 are correct, while TWC HD is on both AMC 4 and AMC 6.

They wont last a "week long period" they will happen for a few days for about 15 minutes each day... In my experience, with dishes 31" and bigger, the outage will only last for a peak of about 6 minutes (Cable headends use 6ft + dishes so they will be out for about that time) while DTH users such as Dish Network / DTV can expect a full 15 min.

Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we experience temporary service outages because of the path of the sun. We call it sun transit. It’s when the sun passes directly behind our satellites and interferes with the signals.

These service outages are minor. The worst case is about 15 minutes a day for about 10 days. Often it only lasts three days. Sun transit can also interfere with transmission of various channels because other satellites, used to broadcast these signals, are also affected by sun transit.

Congratulations repetitive TWC Today Members!

Heres where you all went wrong... 1) Victor simple asked why TWC broadcasts in Mono, not TWC HD.

HD is a completly different video carrier technology. You cant even have a subcarrier on an HD channel because HD is usually a mix minus feed, and due to the size and compression of the MPEG Video. It's possible that the HD feed is 100% communicating via VBI, and there is no subcarrier required (for old STARs) just the VBI lines on the top or side of the image.

Why does TWC broadcast in mono and not stereo like most other stations?
Subcarrier takes up one side of the audio track.

Edit: You should be getting the one channel of audio, on both audio channels on your end.. The STAR should EQ the audio... The only way to test it would be when the STAR does a local local forecast and plays its own music, which is stereo. If you hear that its not stereo its something at your headend, your setup, or TWC just stopped EQ-ing the audio.
