General Discussion / Re: Changing cell phones
« on: May 15, 2009, 09:39:02 PM »
I maintain two phone, US and Canada.

I originally had the BlackBerry Storm with Verizon, and a BlackBerry Curve with TELUS. Texting on the Storm was more painful than putting Bamboo sticks under your fingernails, so much so that I returned the Storm and got an 8830 World Edition on VZW... I then sold my TELUS Curve and got a Storm, only because I need a cool phone, and a work phone...  :bleh: I use the Verizon (8830 WE, work phone) for emails more so then the Storm, so I sorta had the phones backwards.

Long story short, depends on what your looking for, but typing on the Storm is difficult. They told me to give it 2 weeks to settle it... I gave it a week and a half and discovered that it taking 30 minutes to write an email that used to take 2 minutes to write was riDONKoulous! AT&T (GSM) have a pretty cool new Curve out.

Why would you want to see yourself on your desktop like that
I'd find it slightly odd as well...I  dont want to be staring myself in the face :P
I keep a mirror beside my laptop, I enjoy looking at my self. I am that awesome.

However, I wouldn't set my wallpaper to include me!

We built a new set today... What do you guys think?

I streamed the final bits of setup on uStream tonight from the studio cameras, but I think we only had about 3 viewers as I decided to stream it very last minute, for only about 30 minutes.

Hey guys,

Sorry I've been so busy lately, I've been busy gearing up for NAB, which involves spitting out a lot of code fixes, new software and fixing old software.

I've also had a moment to bring the Weathercaster project back to life, we've created a Twitter page and are looking for as many followers as possible!

Any Sirius/XM Radio users out there? How's it like (quality, prices, etc.)? I've been thinking about subscribing and getting an XM receiver when I have my own car.
I've got Sirius.. I have a tuner that is portable and attaches to the dash of my car, I love it. I usually listen to Sirius Chill, and Area, both of which are basically chill out stations with up/down tempo dance music. They have music for literally every interest.

Everything Else TWC / Abrams & Bettes BlackBerry Theme
« on: March 20, 2009, 08:32:30 PM »
I got really bored last night and decided to make a A&B style theme for my BlackBerry Curve 8330. The BlackBerry had been off for a day or so, so when I turned it on a few messages came in, which is perfect, shows what my home screen looks like with messages that are unread.

This is the first theme that I actually like on my BlackBerry, all the other look like crap, this looks AMAZING on the little high res screen.

What do you think?

I also have the full A&B music as my ringtone, and smaller cuts as my SMS / MMS / Messenger alerts.

Weather Center opener transitioned out to green at 9 PM CT.
Seems they used the opener as a source instead of a key.

Hmmm...it seems the camera being shown on the video wall isn't the same one that's on the air. The camera on the video wall looks to be the track-mounted camera on the ceiling. :hmm:
Yeah - it is a different camera, however there is a "smart" system incorporated with OverDrive, the system is programmed to know that certain aux buses are on studio screens (seen by a camera that is on air) so basically, when the camera was selected to be displayed on the wall, the system should have been able to detect that the selected crosspoint (TracKam), and the intended destination (Video Wall) would create a feedback loop.

This vortex was nice!
That's odd.. There should have been a warning that said something along the lines of "This xpt cannot be selected as it will cause a feedback loop on air!" Suppose that's something to look in to.
