Allow me to clear this up, this is where everything about TWC HD will be discussed, let it be something you like on it, or something you noticed wrong such as video feeds or audio levels.

General Discussion / Re: Cannot Export a Windows Movie Maker video
« on: February 10, 2008, 11:03:06 AM »
Did you try Googling your problem?
Yes, but it only leads to the same advice that Movie Maker gives (which doesn't help because there's nothing wrong in the video itself).
How do you know that for sure? What are the extentions of the files you have imorted and what is the extention of the final product? You might have some codecs overlapping.

Then that's pure negligence on their part. How do you let a water leak go long enough to damage equipment?
Mechanical Failure caused water to leak at an alarming rate, but again, you think it would have been able to be stopped or maintained. But then again, no one noticed it until the litteral "BANG" that was heard through out the building.

I clicked the link you provided Stephen, but I get a broken link error. IS this info from a relaible source? I ask because I've seen lots of info about the incident, but never once a reference to a water leak.
Yeah, I can confirm that a) that is reliable (some how someone got ahold of an internal memo and posted it) and that b) it was a water leak that got in to power equipment which shorted out important equipment.

Let me detail whats in the picture:

On the left wall you can see a wall covered in sheets, all of those sheets are listings of satellite feeds and other satellite information.

On the left shelf is a laptop, this laptop is acting as network control right now for my weathercaster systems, its got Windows XP SP1 and no updates, it just runs one program and communicated via parallel cable to another computer. You can also see a pop can stash to the left of that laptop :P .

To the right of the laptop is a monitor, that monitor is connected to the white tower computer on the right hand side of the picture. This computer handles feeds and videos coming from the news wire, it basically is in control of any video coming in to my house. It will then ither send the video to a TV set, or send it over the network to other computers (such as my laptop or editing machine) where I can watch the video or record it.

To the right of that monitor are 3 cable boxes, just used for signal processing and one box is for a news feed :P

To the right of the cable boxes are 2 computers and a monitor the bottom computer is the feed computer and the top computer is my DVR system, also as of March that top computer will become a computer for viewing / recording TWC only. The monitor on top of that computer will show what ever the computer below it is viewing.

Moving up to the left of that monitor, are 3 big monitors.. The right monitor shows the desktop of network control for weathercaster. The middle monitor is hooked up to my digital cable box and I watch regular TV on it, right now; The Simpsons. :P The monitor on the far left shows what ever I plug in to it as it is a test bus (monitor).

On the rack above the monitors are 3 VTR's. They are all hooked up to one another and record feeds and cable TV.

On the very top rack are 3 satellite receivers (StarChoice, Bell ExpressVu [Pulls in music feed!] DirecTV) and 1 cable box (Rogers). There are also 2 speakers (Left and Right channels) that play sound from a source I select. There are also some tapes. Anddd... a USB Christmas Tree I plug in to my cable box during the holidays :P You can also see in the top left of the picture I have Christmas lights strung up for the holiday spirit in Feb :P

All of this equipment is controlled by a digital patch board, meaning I have a peice of software that will route everything where I tell it to. Like tell "SATRECEIVER2 to TVSET3" or "SATRECEIVER2 to DVRRECORING" Its all digitally routed.

On the desk, cable box remote control, HP dv2000 laptop, 3 cell phones, a PILE of wires, and an easy button.
