They made such a mistake with Kathy, I was on edge watching that, I did not see that flip out though. I stopped watching between 12:10 and 12:50.... I can't believe they got her to do it... What a mistake.

Well folks, I've uploaded the latest version of Weathercaster to YouTube...

Comments? Questions?
Very nice. I've been wondering if that was still in the works or not, I've haven't heard any news about it in months.

Do you still have that live feed of Weathercaster up? I lost the link to that.
Yep - Weathercaster is still slowly in the works.

The live feed will be  re-appearing sometime tonight, the feed was taken down as I actually needed the encoder machine, as a sandbox server to copy weathercaster logs every 30 minutes (internal storage wipes them every half hour as they get pretty big.)

I stayed in Cocoa Beach this past week, and the Holiday Inn had the DirecTV feed. We then moved down 2 hotels to the Hilton, they had the same thing.

General Discussion / The Weather Network - MobiTV - TELUS
« on: January 01, 2009, 02:11:34 PM »
This past week, TELUS finally released the MobiTV application, and XM Satellite Radio application for their series of Blackberry’s.

Already paying $150 a month on my BlackBerry bill, I thought I should add both applications to my BlackBerry Curve and give them a shot.

I shot a video of how the application loads, and selected to use The Weather Network as my demo channel. Similar to the satellite feed, this is not a local PMX version, it is a national version. People with TELUS get the same feed. However, there is NO PMX what so ever. The locals, highway, and national segments are all blank with no overlay.

Here is a sample of a LF and a bit of the newscast:

Most channels are only 15 seconds delayed. The quality is pretty good, it is streaming over the phone's EVDO network afterall. There is very little buffering. If you have any questions, lemme know!

Here is what the guide looks like:

Notice how the schedule has TWC names? TWN doesnt even have programs, in Canada, on our guide we see "National, and Local Weather" in our guides for TWN, that never changes. It seems maybe MobiTV got TWN and TWC mixed up..

Yeah, I don't get why Weatherplus isn't on satellite. Doesn't make sense if satellite companies can carry local channels, but not a local weatherplus.

Same reason they can't carry TWC's local forecast. There's no technology to do so yet.
You totally missed the point to Victors, and Garys post. That's not what they are refering to. Its a work around to real technology limitations.

DirecTV Has Local On the 8s for local ZIP code
