About 10$ for lunch and then $2 for a water.

Everything Else TWC / Re: What would you do to improve TWC?

I don't mind they way they use their graphics now... showing headlines and live cams on the video wall and forecast maps with chromakey.
I like the video wall because it so much bigger and I especially hate when the mets use the Chroma Key stand way to close to the camera, and that isn't really a problem when using the video wall.

The video wall may be big, but you can't match graphics resolution on it. A chroma wall will let you use the highest resolution available, and superimpose the meteorologist over it, vs. having them stand in front of a TV(basically). Much crisper on a chroma key. Standing too close to the camera, maybe so, but they can always move back towards the screen a bit. I personally felt they were too far away from the camera when using the video wall. That, combined with them showing the black bezel around it, further reducing the size of the map, made me detest the wall.
Oh, true. I like seeing the full resolution, but I think they need make the chroma bigger. (i like big screens lol).

6. Use the video wall again for weather.(fix the color though.)
They got a new video wall, so that's fixed.

Some more:
Stop hyping TWC Prime Time. It looks too much like something a movie channel would make.
As Max said, bring a unified look and sound to everything.
Bring back the 4-note chime.
That's great, but I like it when they show the weather graphics on it instead of the greenscreens.

General Discussion / Needs help with Dell PC.
« on: January 24, 2011, 10:11:38 PM »
Okay, so I got my new dell precision and my school has a few of the same model, they have been having a lot of problems. So I was wondering, how can you return your dell PC for a refund? Is this possible?

General Weather Chat / Re: What's the weather in your area?

Here's a good one for everyone.  Last night, we here in Grand Forks bottomed out at -30° (WC of about -45°).  As for International Falls, they were a bit colder.  Take a look.

I heard it bottomed out around -44° in International Falls. That's BRUTALLY FRIGID! Not even talking about wind chills! :brr: :brr:

Ouch! Being that cold has gotta hurt. I couldn't even imagine being outside in that! :o

General Discussion / Re: What Type of Cell Phone Do You Have?
« on: January 23, 2011, 02:54:15 PM »
I have an En V Touch now. IT SUCKS! Around November this year I think I'm going to get a droid or i Phone (if Verizon ever gets it).
My mom and sister each had an EnV Touch too (my sister still does) and they hated it. The touch screen was awful, and they had the same issues with their phones powering off randomly as I did with my EnV3.

The iPhone is coming out with Verizon on February 10th, but the Droid is great too. Only problem is, the battery life is awful.
Yup. I'm on my second  one and within the first month of having the phone you have to calibrate it daily or several times daily.  Just wish my contract was up sooner than November.

My dell ultra sharp 20" has a swivel stand, so I took this one in portrait mode.

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

Ever since i got my HD pvr ive noticed this but for anyone with TWC HD, have you ever noticed how the thunderstorm forecast/precip forecast banners looked aliased or roughened? I thought it was my tuner at first until i moved my LCD TV to my living room with an HDMI signal going to it (the HD PVR uses component video or for you "techies", YCbCr) and noticed it there  however the severe weather warnings banner looks fine
I think VIZ does that to the images so they don't slow the system down to much. I've seen other examples of viz and it does something similar.

Darn, not her too. Something about her really made me happy. And somehow Samantha Mohr is still there.
I bet they'll let her go when her contract is up, too! I'm not a fan of her anymore.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New HD Wall
« on: January 19, 2011, 07:50:54 PM »
I hope it's something like the first video wall, not just some 70" flat screen, touch screen television like Al's in NYC.
Al's is more like 100" or more.

Could they be using the pre-2008 green wall? Well, if it's still there.
Probably are. I think where the greenscreen was in the HD studio is where they may be putting the new video wall.

Yeah it think so too. The lighting is bad and you can see glares and the light on their face and sholders.

Anyone see Wake Up With Al yesterday morning at the end of the show? Steph was hilarious!

Wake Up With Al- The random tangents of Stephanie Abrams

And that's why she's my favorite at TWC.
