The past hour, and this hour of Weather Center has been in the old studio/satellite center/expert desk, presumably so whoever is anchoring the rest of the night is recording their segments now.
That or either, since there is so much going on right now, they are in there so everyone can communicate easily and get the data to us quicker.

I'll get a picture when I can, but the visible satellite is showing nothing but white across Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. It's almost scary.
Its dark outside. Visible Satellite needs the suns light for the satellite to see the clouds.

Nevermind, I read that wrong. Is it showing the snow on the ground? Please post at pic, would love to see it.

Yeah, I completely forgot about Groundhog Day. This monster snowstorm has been the main focus of my attention today.
I also heard that he is being added to some hall of fame there?

So I see on a graphic on weather.com that Dr. Greg Forbes is in Pennsylvania for Winter Storm coverage. Is he doing field reports? Or maybe he is in a studio...just don't remember Dr. Forbes doing field reports before (has he?).

He was out in the field for the Vortex 2 project last year I think once or twice.
Dr. Forbes is there for Groundhog day ceremony in Puxatony, PA. I think he goes every year and they cover the ground hog shadow thing.

lol they just showed an Abrams and Bettes Weather Center opener. Someone in the control room is tired
Did it use the old A&B/WC theme from 2008 or the current WC theme?
Check the bloopers page. I posted the video of the intro tht was used. I think its the current theme.

There are definite recorded segments in here, as there is a lack of transitions between each segment, plus unnatural tossing to Chris and Crystal back and forth.
I think Chris is the only one live in the Studio right now.

At 1AM Eastern Time, TWC used the old Abrams and Bettes weather center intro that had Mike and Steps picture in it.

This intro, but with different music I think.

So, why were Crystal and Chris on only at the 7PM hour, and then at 8PM, Todd and Kim C. are on? I thought WC 1 crew went from 7-10?

I'm assuming since long form programming was supposed to be on, they decided to have a different crew on during those hours. I guess Kelly will be there at 10 with whoever is partnering with her since Paul is in the field.
I find it strange that they are swaping Kim and Todd out with Crystal and Chris every other hour. Could it be that they have a lot of work going on behind  the scenes?

Anyone see the turbo tax commercial with Jim Cantore? He should be a movie actor.

Except I thought better of him then to actually do a commerical where he has to say "category 5 blizzard."
I didn't really notice he said that.
