Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

It's great that vocals have been permanently removed, but hopefully that doesn't mean they'll keep the same two production songs forever.
Well they also said that they plan to bring music back, options include jazz but also other music types are being considered. Maybe they'll include jazz with other instrumental formats. Me personally would like the 2009-2011 Lo8s format but with more jazz in primetime, which everyone complained about.  Those years IMO had a perfect mix of jazz with other catchy instrumental tunes.

Just got word TWC is evaluating it's local forecast, as a main focus. Hopefully the graphics will get better. Maybe TWC is starting to care again?

An update on the music situation

Thanks for your note. As you know from our survey, we are  exploring options to provide the best local product so we are featuring different music. I am not certain about the final choices  but know the team is considering it.

thanks,
David

Also I asked about is jazz likely to return and they said they are considering it. No Lie! Speculate all you want.

Here is the original message I sent

I've noticed only the 2 production songs were playing all day today. Is this permanent or a place holder? Also is jazz likely to return? I've seen it on the survey.

TWC pre-empted the 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central hour of Highway Through Hell.  They seemed to focus more on the flooding in the Northeast than the severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings elsewhere and also catered to Denver a lot, which confused me because there was nothing but a few scattered storms there!  Anyway, it was also strange because the long-form WAAT was being used instead of the traditional sidebar and LDL.
Maybe TWC really does take weather seriously now  :bleh: surprisingly the only warnings that are severe or tornadic is in rural texas.

I can also confirm that I have only been hearing the two production songs on the LFs today.  My guess is that it's probably for severe weather coverage.  But they're not using the alert production theme, just the two others.

There was Severe Coverage on recently and they had Vocals on so i would think it may have to do something with the recent survey which ended earlier this month.
Yea because today is a spotty severe weather day. If they were in storm alert, they would've used the storm alert music. Plus they went to long form as normal. Also did you notice how the march list lasted about 3 months! They should of changed it between 5/5 - 5/9. This is interesting. I'll email one of the PR executives.

Mount Holly just got an is2!

Again they are putting the hd feed on the sd just like other users reported. Sadly I don't have a tv tuner.

The unit is serving Aubdon. That's too far south of me. I thought something was interesting when the intellistar SD cut out around midnight.

is it an Xfinity Headend?
Yes it is. However before the is2 it was mount holly. So they moved it, but yes it's xfinity
