Perhaps maybe the headends are going to just throw the units away or even try to sell them to TWC fans?

I expect them to be thrown out. A few of us here, myself included, who possess a legacy STAR unit rescued them from a dumpster. Shipping a giant paperweight like  that back to TWC is ridiculously expensive.

I'm actually glad you posted that because I've been trying to ID that song for a while now, too.

I'll take the vocals with the occasional instrumentals over what played constantly the last two months.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: DirecTV Dropping TWC

I do agree TWC has more resources and experts, yet they don't use them to their full potential. The weather coverage has been "dumbed down" in recent years. I used to watch because I used to learn from the channel and it captivated my interests...so much so I wanted to make meteorology a career.

Networks get off TV. It's not the first time it's happened, but TWC is overreacting to this. They're providing the weather coverage they should be doing all the time, not just now.

No ads for long-form "weathertainment" lateley, either. If anything comes from this, they really need less long-form. I hope this is a wake-up call.

I agree with you. I think they're only live so people will see live weather being discussed when they tune in to see the warning. This drop needs to happen if TWC will make any positive changes because I think they will revert to what they want if they get the contract.

I'm not against the drop of TWC on DirecTV. It's a bold statement, yet it's a stand that states "We don't like what TWC has become." There must be less reality shows and more live weather. Even if it's saving the company money by not paying OCM's more hours, not being on more cable networks is lethal as well.

I'm excited to see what Network Weather will provide, especially after what Jeanne has told us so far.

I wish more people who worked with TWC would read what we're saying. I mean, we're the community who cares a lot about TWC in the first place. Why cater to the general public's "desires" if they don't care one way or the other? They should listen more to us, in my opinion.

I'm in full support of your petition also, JR. I miss your music on TWC very much, and I wish they played more songs from Trance Fury on a regular basis too. I feel now is the time to push for change since TWC's changes are still new and fresh. TWC was successful for years with jazz. No reason why it can't still be successful with it, especially after straying away from it for a few years.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Graphics coming to TWC

If there's ever a time that TWC would revert away from the Taylor Swift type of music, it'd be real soon after this transition. I'll be quite content if the music they add in addition to what's playing now is similar to each other. I'm a fan of displaying the song title and artist on screen; however, this kind of hints to me that the music selections will be similar to what we've been hearing lately.

So is that the new music format? Instrumentals?

He's not bad. I like him. I do think he's really skinny though, but has a good personality.

So...does anyone have any insight to the changes to the Local on the 8's next month? It sort of sounds like it's going to have a new name--Weather All the Time. There's a strong emphasis on simplicity with this new debut, as well. I haven't bothered to sign up on weather.com for a preview, but maybe somebody on here knows what we can expect and can share with us.

Those are pretty simple icons. Know the horse has been beaten to death relentlessly in the past, but the XL icons were the perfect blend of simplicity and attractiveness. But as long as the message gets across, that's all most viewers care about. I wonder how the music will be affected by the changes?

Local Forecast / Re: Fate of the 2 Minute Locals

The fact that somebody at TWC would push for a return of the two-minute locals is awesome. I think they'd be suited especially at the :28 and :58 because that's when other shows on other channels end their program and viewers can switch to see a thorough, informative forecast. Weather should be the top priority, but then again, they may really need the extra ads to sustain the network's profit--even though they are highly irritating.

Wonder if that was a better offer or he knew TWC wasn't planning on renewing his contract...

Hi all! I just got word that "February (Mid Winter Nigh Mix) will be playing soon. Sounds like Brian is getting more time to spend on Local Forecast music. Glad to see he still considers me. Thanks for the support!

That's awesome! I enjoyed that one in September 2011. We're grateful to hear any instrumentals at this point, I guess.
