Happy belated birthday you guys! Wow, Derek you're already 17? Time flies by so quick, regardless of whether we're having or not.

Trammell at 3:10 C.T. this afternoon due to a switch to the emergency feed for a couple of seconds. I'm afraid I don't know the title of the song, unfortunately.

Hmm. Well, I'm sure it'll be fixed sometime soon then. However, my STAR also has some pretty serious audio/narration jumping problems, so this isn't the only problem the STAR has.

Hey, for anyone that has the IntellISTAR, is the local forecast weather animations showign up in the 36 Hour Forecast? For some reason the STAR where I am isn't showing it. I hope TWC didn't plan on taking them out...

Local Forecast / Re: Buy a Weatherstar XL at my house?!
« on: March 24, 2010, 02:00:09 PM »
this is a really weird topic. in order to get what you want, you need 3 things:
1. Means - the money, the gear, the tools, the brains, and yet more money.
2. Motive - the driving force to complete the goal.
3. Capacity - the understanding of what is needed to complete the goal.

this goes for anything in life.. getting a car, getting job, buying a house, going to college..

IMO, focus on your life, not a weatherstar.. its not going to get you anywhere.
It will get you really hot girls!!  :P

Oh yeah, girls just love that.  :bleh: Well, maybe I'd be an exception, but I get a big thrill just watching your videos of the STAR; they're very cool to see.

Yeah, that probably won't ever happen. Just being honest, yo. The fact that even Martin and Brian got one AND got it to work is just impeccable. Your cable company would never use it either, as they know that most people prefer the info that the IntelliSTAR has to display.

Everything Else TWC / Re: New Graphics and Icons
« on: March 11, 2010, 05:11:38 PM »
I just saw them use the XL icons on air

For real? That would be awesome if these icons were a joke and they brought the XL ones back. The raindrops on these new ones look total catoon-ish, while the XL ones were designed just perfectly. However, I really like the new LDL. For some reason, it reminds me of the XL LDL, even though they don't look anything alike.

So, you mean TWC is trashing the their GOOD animated icons for some web-friendly ones? Sheesh, if they're doing that just bring the XL ones back... :hammer: This is just crazy. Talk about stepping down a couple of generations.

I apologize for this noob-ish question, but what exactly is a Local Across the 48s? I mean, I know it's kind of like you record a local forecast from where you live, but is there any other reason behind it? Nonetheless, if I can visit my grandmother that day, her cable company has an IntelliSTAR so I may be able to participate this time around.

The New Orleans Saints pulled off the upset by beating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV.  I can only imagine the party going on in Bourbon Street right now. :P
YAY! I'm glad they won. They deserve it after Katrina plus it's their first Super Bowl win.

I'm right with you, Molly...I was thinking that same thing. :D

Go SAINTS!!!!!!!!!! :thrilled:

It is absolutely crazy in New Orleans right now. It's louder here now than it was on New Years. I'm glad they won, it means a lot to our city.  :) :)

I believe it was the father of "balloon boy" who for 10 seconds, I barely saw on The Today Show some time over break I think. Man, we get it pal, you don't think it was a hoax. You don't have to say that every other sentence. At the end of the interview, Matt Lauer tried to transition into the next segment, and he did what they always do when they're done interviewing someone on-air (So and so's name, thank you-). The guy interrupted him. I couldn't even watch that much of it, and wow, I'm glad I missed most of it.

Oh my goodness, that whole "balloon boy" story was so crazy. They had the heart of millions only to discover that nobody was ever in the balloon. I also feel bad for TWC that they covered that ALL day. I wish I missed it.
