My parents were the same way with me. Even though my parents said they wanted me to be happy, I didn't think they actually meant it. But now that I'm older, I do see that that was their intention, but the way they went about it by being strict and all (along with other clearly wacko issues) didn't make me happy at the time either. A thing that helped me out a lot was by being out of the house whether it was just in the backyard, at a friend's house, the library, or at a job. Now that you're 16, you may want to get a part time over the summer and earn some dough and spend some time away from them (if you still feel the same way, of course). A thing that I didn't do enough was being honest my parents. I'd let them know how you feel and that you feel like you don't get enough of a say in things. You're 16 now, and I think I'd remind them that too. I'm pretty bad at explaining things, but I just thought I'd try to help a little since I know when I've had those times too.
