General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch

Out of complete boredom, I checked to see if there were any WeatherSTARs on eBay. To my surprise, I actually found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/IntelliStar-II-AS-400-Repeater-407-017-101-301-0719-04-/350300781161?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item518f8dba69

I know this is probably not an IS 2, and even if it was, I have no interest in buying it. But is that the real thing? Or just what the heck is that? I also thought this topic needed a bump.  :P

Wow, some of these songs do sound like they would be more suitable on the daytime playlist. I would sure love it if they would play jazz in the evenings to help me unwind, but I doubt that will be the case permanently.

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who remembered to wish me a happy birthday! (If I were on Facebook, I would like all of these messages.) I apologize for my inactivity; college life sure is tough. However--true story--I plan on changing my major to meteorology. I hope to transfer to the University of Oklahoma because it is one of the most affordable out-of-state schools closest to me. If I can handle Differential Equations and junk until I get my degree, I shouldn't need most of that math anymore.  :) Well, I am not 100% sure that's what  I will be doing in life, but it's definitely one of the most interesting subjects that I'm interested in studying at the moment. So wish me luck for that, too! And I hope all of you are doing well and that you can finish the year strong.  B)

Ha-ha, oh you're very correct, WeatherWitness. B)

If you mean the icons that are on the IS2, we can't send you those either because we don't have access to them and they don't belong to us. However, you seem to have some of the new ones. That thunderstorm icon sure is a good replica of the real new one.

Darn, not her too. Something about her really made me happy. And somehow Samantha Mohr is still there.

I take you're an Alabama fan, TWCC_Lightning. (I'm also one myself, but I'm an LSU fan first.) :P I do agree, though, that over time the NCAA will dig up all this dirt and prove that Cam Newton was ineligible this whole time. Knowing that, he's going to go pro before that happens to him.

In regards to the topic, I personally think a boy's hair is not a big deal. While I will admit that it does look better in most cases for guys to have shorter hair, I think banning him from the team is a very harsh measure. I know guys who don't look very good with short hair, and I think the hair restrictions on the team need to be lessened, but not stripped. Most 14-year-olds don't have facial hair anyway, but I would say that as long as the hair isn't below the shoulder or absolutely covering the eyes like a shaggy dog, the hair shouldn't be an issue.

Holy cow, these are really good! How long does it take you to make these? I don't think I would have the time to make graphics like that even if I knew how or wanted to.

Now I agree with you there, tuez13. I know they're just icons, but I have a little sentimental attachment to them because those were the ones that I saw when I began to watch TWC again. I think the new ones just look too cheap to be on the IS, but that's why there's the IS2. Except for Jim's narrations, I really like the job well done on the IS2.

I just thought I should update you guys on my situation: I posted on here a while ago that I was probably going to take a year off from school because of the continued grieving of the loss of my father and my inability to focus. However, my counselors and teachers have been very helpful and understanding, and I plan to stick this year out. I've been also getting a lot more emotional support from the family, and that has been helping a lot. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, and I think I'll going to be able to stay in school this year without too much trouble. This will be the last Friday I'll be taking off.

Hmm.. That's a bit unfortunate. My friend says that the one in Baton Rouge is also not running. I hope the Cox cable headends didn't decide to take them off or something.

Is there anything wrong with the IS2 lately? The day I was planning on recording a clip with my DVD Recorder, the IS2 was not working. It hasn't been on for a few days now, which is bumming me out. Does anybody know if they're all having problems or if it's my local one not running at the moment?

Even though I don't have much of a preference, I do enjoy hearing the October playlist again. I've heard the August songs too much, and many of them are too summery and out of season.

I'd be a little disappointed, but I won't be devastated. I'll really be looking forward to that Christmas music now!

Actually, I had this thought that the new playlists would go in reverse--so the playlist after this one would be the June 2010 playlist, and then the playlist after that would be the April 2010 playlist. I really liked the June playlist, so I wouldn't mind that one making a return. This one, however, is not one of my favorites.
