Pardon me if this has been answered countless times, but does anybody know why TWC's music is still a bit iffy? As for me, I haven't heard songs like "Supernova" since the playlist issue after Irene, and I just heard a morning song that I'm not too particularly fond of at 6:28 CT. Moreover, I'm just wondering if this will be fixed before/if a Sept. playlist gets released.

Hurricane Central / Re: Tropical Storm Lee

While Lee's center passed very close to my area, the wind never reached the 35-50 mph that was forecasted; I'm not even sure I got a gust of 40. Impacts were pretty mild for me. I was able to watch the LSU game with power and go to mass the next day with no problems whatsoever. The biggest winds I felt were very early this morning when a front came through. The people to the east of me around New Orleans, Gulfport, and Mobile probably have a windier, wetter story to tell.

I have to agree with you there. Or maybe just more of the areas shaded in red should only be in medium, not high threat.

So far, the weather where I am in Lafayette isn't too bad. Lee's still a rather "hybrid" system, so I'm anticipating that it remains on the weaker side and does NOT reach hurricane status.

Except for a little bit of rain and breeze, not so much here right now. I just don't see all that rain falling as far west as I am, but I am a bit concerned for the folks on NOLA because, after living there for many years, it does have many flood-prone areas, and ten to twenty inches of rain in a short span of time will cause some problems.

It's running as good as ever on my end. I have no explanation for that.

While we are on the subject of college, I am going to take the time to be a little more "open" about myself. I don't want this to be extremely awkward, but I realize that I have never revealed my age or "level" in education. There is no good reason for this, but since I have reached a new stage in my life, I would like to share it with you all.

I just started college this year. I am studying meteorology at the University of Oklahoma and am, so far, very excited about it. For those of you who may not know, The National Weather Center is located on the campus, and it is both school-operated and government-operated. I believe Patrick visited there sometime earlier this year, if I remember correctly. Therefore, because of the location of The National Weather Center on campus, this university has a very good meteorology and research department. In addition, from looking at and hearing about past weather events, Norman gets all kinds of weather: tornadoes in the spring (something they specialize in), excessive heat in the summer, and winter storms in the winter.

I, too, would like to wish the best of luck for those of you who are also in their first year of college. :)

Whoa, I may actually see you next year! I'm strongly considering the thought of changing my degree to meteorology and transferring to Oklahoma because it seems to be the most intriguing study to me these past couple of years. While we're still a little tight on money, we've been saving for a while to make this change for me--that is, if I still feel the same about it in a few months.

How are all you people settling into dorms if you're living on campus? To be honest, I've never lived in a dorm, but that is going to change next year if I go to college out of state.

Well, we certainly understand your lack of time here, Martin. I'm glad to hear that your place wasn't totally washed out, as I've seen some of your pics of your yard and you're right there by the bay. Good luck at another year of college! I'm sure you'll be fine. If I can get over anxiety-related nausea issues, I have the utmost confidence in you!

Oh, so it's rotation issues. I was wondering why I was hearing different songs in the evening. I really like some of them, though.

It's hard to believe we've already had this list for almost 2 months. I'm actually going to miss this playlist, and I'm usually very neutral to this kind of thing. Definitely one of my favorites in a while.

Thanks so much for the link, Zach. I don't know why I couldn't find that myself, lol. Again, thanks a lot. I can't wait to vastly expand my TWC music library on my iPod. I honestly didn't know TWCToday had a thing like this. Another reason to stay with the best.

I actually think TWC's plan for nonstop weather coverage is a good innovation. I just don't think Irene is the storm for it, but not a bad idea if we get another Ike, Katrina, Rita, etc. We haven't had a hurricane hit the US in nearly 3 years, so TWC is seizing the opportunity to make the most of it. I can't really blame them, as I would probably do the same thing if I were in their shoes.

Would anyone happen to know the Ryan Farish song that was used in the February 2009 playlist? Also, is there a list of playlists somewhere? Unfortunately, Victor/Molly's channel was suspended, and that's where I've been hearing LF music for years, and I would like to get the names of the songs so I can find them on iTunes. Thank you anyone who can help.

Well, tropical systems always seem to do the exact opposite of what I predict. I predicted it was going to get torn apart by the high mountains of Cuba. Now I know how to predict hurricanes, lol.

All I can say is that I really look forward to TWC's coverage of Irene, regardless of how strong it gets. I think hurricanes (and Jim's thundersnow :P) are TWC's best coverages. I'll be interested to see what it does, but I really hope that people on the east coast start preparing ASAP. You definitely don't want to see if it's going to hit you or not before you get those batteries. I know from experience that they disappear like crazy.

I somehow don't think Irene will be very problematic for the United States. The models have it passing over the mountainous terrains of the Dominican Republic and Cuba, which will just greatly disrupt the circulation. I just think there will be too much land interaction, but I believe that is in everyone's best interest to keep it from becoming a powerful storm.

But you can still try and make your own. :) You can perhaps make your own concept.

I just wanted to say that I was really waiting for something like this. I was surprised at how active that forum has become lately, and I don't want us to abuse the privilege of having the actual TWC STAR Team here.

Unfortunately, classes have started for me already, but I'm not in my dorm yet. My morning nausea/vomiting is really becoming a big problem. It's been happening everyday now for 4 days. The doctor thinks that I'm very anxious and that my stomach is overproducing acid, so I'm on Prevacid right now. Unfortunately, not much change yet. :( I'm pretty worried about this, and I really don't want it to be anything serious. I feel okay in the evenings, but mornings are miserable. Anyone else have anything similar to this? I don't think I'm that afraid of school. I am so clueless, though, and quite worried.
