Local Forecast / Re: November/December 2011 playlist

I heard some song by Linkin Park, I believe. The three songs I heard were almost heavy metal. I hope jazz didn't disappear again, because jazz just seems to suit a forecast much more than a loud song.

Something seems a little out-of-the-blue. Just hope they throw some familiar jazzy tunes in somewhere if this is indeed a new playlist.

Well, whatever experimentation was going on seems to have ceased as I am hearing "No More Sages" by Maserati, a familiar song.

I would also have to say Todd. I know it's a little harsh and immature, but his eyebrows creep me out. And, yeah, his voice gets a little liquid-ish when he talks for a while, and I also find that both noticeable and irritating.

I don't necessarily despise Crystal, but I think she was definitely hired because of her looks.

On the contrary, Kim Cunningham is my clear favorite. Her voice and the way she talks is very soothing to me, and I like how she makes it feel like more of a conversation instead of a lecture. That's the vibe I get from her, but I enjoy it when she does the weather. If she's let go, I'll be very bummed.

Local Forecast / Re: Best Playlist This Year

Big surprise--I, too, found the Jan/Feb playlist to be the most catchy. I would put the one we're in now as a close second, though. I think the music has gotten much better over the past few years. It was never bad before, but I think jazz is more suitable for a local forecast.

"Sierra" by David Keen is my favorite song of the year.

I wonder why. I think that's a cool song, and it was played at a time in my life when I was having many good experiences. Summer 2010 was something else...lol. I guess I'm unique that way.

Hope the list starts soon!

Happy belated birthday, Martin! I hope it was a great one. I was still on my hiatus during your birthday, but nevertheless, happy 20th!

I actually like this list. Many of the repeats are songs that I really liked, especially "Monolith" from Maserati and "Together We Will Conquer" by Ryan Farish. I expected the song from Home Alone, but that song always fits well with this time of year.

I'm not sure how the whole L-bar thing will play out, and frankly, I don't care, but I do hope to hear the primetime songs often because I think that those are my favorite for this playlist.

All in all, I like it. The playlists have been surprisingly pleasant for me the past year and a half or so.

Stomach bugs...certainly not fun. I really hope you don't get that.

I know I've already done this before, but I'm taking another break from this place. To be honest, my interest in TWC is almost dwindling by the day, and I am a lot busier than I used to be. I may pop in every now and then, and I'm very grateful for all the friends I've made here. I hope this place continues to prosper, and I hope that people around that are so fond of TWC will accept their changes. To be honest, I do not really care what they do anymore. It's just a channel on my TV, nothing more.

See you guys!

That's a little extreme if that wasn't sarcasm. Disliking change is one thing, but disowning a channel because of experimentation is a little much.

To be honest, TWC isn't a big part of my life anymore. It used to be my only sole channel, but that's no longer the case. I don't even watch television that much because school's keeping me busy and I'm trying to do other things to keep occupy my active self, which I think is a really good, healthy thing for me to do. I'm not crazy about the L-bar, I will admit that, but if I'm going to let an L-bar infuriate me that much, then I obviously don't have my priorities straight.

February before I see a flake of any kind. I usually will see a flurry or two at least every winter, but rarely anything measurable.

I don't hate the squeezeback, but I just see it to be an unnecessary feature, as--well, in my case--it's hard to see the pictures and weather info TWC is displaying with the squeezeback. Plus, I just don't see how people will watch what TWC is airing while they are trying to see the local forecast. I think the squeezeback is less attractive, and I think more people like the background music than some would think. (I've even seen TWC on at gas stations because of the local forecast during storms.) We can rant all we want, but that's not going to change anything. Either we can accept the changes or watch a different channel. I honestly find the local news to provide much better, more accurate weather info as it is specifically designated to you a specific area. I will miss the local forecast every 10 minutes if this is a permanent thing. It's a pretty big change for me, but, like I said, we can either just roll with it or not because complaining won't do a thing.

Well, obviously, I don't think the playlists would be discontinued because they just released a new one. I must say that I'd be pretty bummed if I didn't see a full screen local forecast at every :8's, but I'll manage. They're doing what they think is best. It might not even be permanent, for all I know.

I don't think it's going to be a permanent thing. They were just trying to expand their coverage of the flooding, I'm sure. I can also assure you that any action we would take would be a joke.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: Should the TWCC presence stay?
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:05:41 PM »
I just wanted to say that I do not think that those sections should be removed because I do not see a big enough reason to. Although I'm definitely not as active as I used to be, I don't hate TWC's changes at all, and I think that the classic content should be kept intact, since those were "the glory days" to many of TWC's fans, including myself. If you're going to leave the classics site up, you might as well leave the name in this site because that was a pretty big event in itself. I'm a firm believer of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I really like this list! Except I would prefer the regular version of "Peaceblaster" opposed to the funked up New Orleans remix, but oh well. All in all, I am quite pleased.

I also like repeats--just maybe not a TON. It brings a sense of familiarity that somehow soothes me.

And there aren't many common songs on the primetime and overnight list that I can see...

I'm Waiting for you - Jackiem Joyner at 308pm cdt

I was really hoping I would hear that song again. It's kind of a sad song to me, but it is so beautiful.

I like the list a lot so far.
