I wonder why it's now seemingly a hassle to update the music. I'm very happy the music was changed, even if the list
is incomplete.

I agree, too. I don't even see my regional map anymore because the tides and marine forecast screens have priority over it. The local forecasts just seem shorter now than they used to be.

I hope the playlist still isn't complete yet. I don't despise the Linkin' Park song, but I feel that it's past its due. 4 months of that song would get old.

I didn't want to bump an old topic, and since it's relevant to this month, does anyone know where I can find the instrumental version of Patrick Droney's "Everything"? I think it's wonderful.

Well, I still haven't heard as much of the list as I wanted, but I heard some rock-sounding songs. Not too much jazz so far, but I'm still glad for signs of a new playlist. I was getting very tired of the old one.

Local Forecast / March/April and May 2012 Playlists

I've been hearing new songs on the HD LF's while on the standard they're not playing them yet. I just heard "11, 12, 13" by David Holmes. This has got to be the start of the the incorporation of the new playlist. The two songs that I heard are very good, in my opinion. Good contemporary music, I mean. I was not able to identify the one at 5:48 CST, though, and a Linkin' Park song aired on both the HD and standard-definition at 5:58.

I think this is my first topic started...haha. I hope this isn't all just a false alarm but I'm pretty sure I'm hearing the start of a new playlist.

I think I heard a new song on the HD LF at 5:48 CST. The Standford-definition LF didn't play one at that time.

Sorry, nevermind. False alarm I am ready for a playlist change, though. I did hear a song that I don't recall 10 mins ago, but I guess it wasn't a new one.

Nope, I was right the first time! New songs are in the mix. Just heard "11, 12 & 13" by David Holmes. I love that song. :) I didn't hear it on standard LF though.

Yep, I saw the lovely L-bar at 3:38 CST. I recall TWC taking it down for some "fixing up." I wouldn't be surprised if it's back for good in the near future.

I guess that poor unit is really taking a lack of rest hard. Also, I guess the moon is made out of cheese after all!

Anyone else a little annoyed that the local forecast pretty much always starts at the 9's except for at :28 and :58? Might as well change the name because it's pretty misleading at this point, even though I doubt they will because of the historical aspect of its name.

Really? That's odd. There are three tags on mine, and they're calling for possible severe weather when there is only isolated thunderstorms. It's too sensitive on mine and not enough on yours, for some reason.

Rotation issues were happening before the start of the Jan/Feb playlist, if I recall correctly. "Rushing" is a fantastic song, and it's not necessarily a smooth jazz one. If TWC chooses to use contemporary songs like that one, then I'll be very pleased. I think next month's list will be a good precursor of what's to come in the upcoming months.

Just wondering, does anyone know the name of the font that is used on the IS2 LF's? It's not Arial like I thought.

I think "Gut Feeling" is a great song...well, the first two minutes of instrumental that TWC likes to use is great. I don't think contemporary and rock instrumentals are all terrible. Patrick Droney's "Everything" is great, and I think "Perfect" by Smashing Pumpkins is one of my all-time TWC favorites. just a few examples I liked.

However, I'm not going to lie-- I'm not particulalry fond of this month except for "Fireworks" and "Songbird." I think there are good songs out there, but that one that literally plays morning, noon, and evening (Something by Linkin Park, I think?) is not very pleasing to my ears.

I'll be curious to see if March is any better. I don't hate this month's playlist, but I would personally rank it the lowest since 2009. Just my opinion, though.

Well, I don't like the lack of jazz, but I don't think it'd be so bad if they didn't play some of the same songs all day; it would allow for a broader variety.

Ugh. I am a bit disappointed, but that's all I can say. TWC is going to change as time goes, and all I can do is either roll with it or not. A few years ago, I would've hated it, blamed NBC, etc., etc. But now that I'm more mature and have been forced to face unbelievable changes in my life, I am quite used to adapting to new things, and in the scheme of things, witnessing the experimentation of new genres is nothing.

I hope there are some more jazz songs in the future, but if not, there is always iTunes.  ;)

I'm not too keen on the last song or the list so far, but to perfectly honest, what importance is it? I have most of the TWC songs that I like on my i-Pod, and TWC isn't even an important part of my life (I'm sorry if it is to you). I hardly watch it anymore, and I don't seem to be missing out on too much.

I do hope there is some jazz because I do enjoy listening to that, but if there isn't, there isn't squat I can do about it except do something better with my life and turn it off. I did, and I don't regret a day ever since.

Whoa, were they always on the playlist? I haven't heard anything by Bunny the Bear since this playlist started, so it must be a rare one...

I just heard "Monoliths," too. I heard some song that is somehow making me think it's from Maserati; it came on before "Monoliths." What the heck am I thinking of? Lol.

Other people were fooled into thinking a new playlist started also.
