OCMs & Personalities / Re: Jeff Morrow leaves TWC
« on: October 11, 2012, 10:08:06 PM »
I'm not a proponent of blaming NBC for anything that happens at TWC, but at the same time, people need to quit being soooo sensitive to that word around here. Very juvenile.

This is actually the first I heard of his departure. He was there a long time, and I expect his resume to be impressive for future employment. I liked his on-camera demeanor. He had an air of enthusiasm in his tone of voice that I think is perfect for TV.

I appreciate the find of that song too. One of the best ones I think they've played all year. We need more hurricanes to come so they'll play it again (just kidding).

"Clearwater" by Ryan Farish. That song actually has a shot to get aired again someday.

Can't say I do! I prefer that over a promo for a show.

Still no vocals yet. I'm surprised. I'm happy to hear the current music as long as TWC is willing to keep it.

I'm very happy to still see the local forecast on TWC, and I guess there is always room for improvement. I'll be curious to see if they use the HD icons or the ones that are currently used on the IS.

I never thought it was over, but I did find it odd that the lack of the vocals continued for this long. I do applaud TWC for being professional about the music in times of dangerous weather though. The change of music was merely just an observation from me.

I actually didn't know most people preferred vocal over instrumental. TWC's choice in music does make sense.

I'm not surprised they'll return, but I am surprised they didn't come back sooner. I still find it weird that they find their own music unprofessional at times...I just don't like how they find tacky songs that have weather in the song. Too cute for me.

I don't even hear any vocals yet. I don't care too much anymore, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Yep, I meant the new-age stuff like "Rushing" and "Sunspot" because I wouldn't classify those as jazz (and iTunes categorizes them as electronic  :P). I'd take those songs over a daypart with the previous vocal music. Mainly, I'm just surprised that these nice songs continue to play well after Isaac.

Just wondering if anyone else is surprised that TWC is still playing the electronic music without many vocals. I know it's not an official playlist, but I'm happy that this selection of music is lasting this long.

Maybe TWC feels vocal music isn't fitting for a hurricane or something? It is odd that even TWC thinks the vocals are tacky when they have many viewers so they're backing off the vocal music for now. I just find that suspicious, especially if the vocal music returns immediately after the Isaac hype dies.

The people here at LSU are very aware of the situation and are urging students and faculty to prepare. I don't plan on evacuating, so I'll take pics and video if anything exciting happens--safely, of course.

It's amazing how quickly time flies, isn't it? The south Florida region has recovered well from the weather disaster, but I certainly hope to see nothing like a storm of Andrew's power anytime soon.

I don't really mind the music as much as the shortened LF. I'm not even watching TWC anymore when I go back to college on Thursday (don't think my roommate would like that), but I do like the choice to use the song by 7and5. Nice.

Trevor, that wouldn't happen to be Edline, would it? That looks a lot like what my high school used to use!
