TWC Classics News / Re: New site design
« on: November 06, 2011, 12:53:03 PM »
I like the new design, but why do you update the look of your site so often, Matt? :dunno: I guess it never hurts to try something new (and like I said, I like this design), but it seems like once we get used to one look/layout, it changes again. :hmm:
I know, and I apologize. I'm not planning on changing this one for a while, though. The reasoning is that I've always wanted a Weather Channel-like design, but one I made. Not having Photoshop until recently, I used Charles' old design for a few years. Since I had no way to make my own at the time, I started looking for a template. So I found the now previous design. About two months ago, I was messing around with some graphics and came up with this design. I thought it looked pretty cool and I liked the fact that it was something I created. So I showed it to a TWC friend. He really liked it too. So I decided to run with it. I might make a few tweaks here and there, but nothing major for at least a few years.

Yah, the security is over the top. I understand wanting to keep the bad people out, but I think he goes a bit overboard. If that madden guy wants to get the program, he'll get it. Security doesn't matter if it also keeps the good people out. As far as the download goes, though, I really don't see what the big deal is in only letting legit members get it. And if the "older" members get it first, so what? I know, I'm an old timer, but I'd feel the same way even if I wasn't. It's no different than a company giving its repeat customers pricing lower than its one-time or casual customers.

Their development team is extremely conservative with their work.
What do you mean?

Apologies for bumping (and double posting ), but under the videos directory, the XL and IS pages are flip-flopped. On the URLs if you click WeatherStar XL, it will show XL in the URL, but will have the IS videos page, and vice versa.
Oops! Fixed. Thanks! :)

I can't get in either. The site has been "temporary overloaded" for the last two days.

Not sure if I still have it, but even if I did...why do you need it? You've got playlists and lots of local forecast videos. :hmm:

Who?
She's one of those people who are famous for no reason. I think we can file this under "gee, who would have seen this coming."

General Weather Chat / 1991 Halloween Blizzard
« on: October 31, 2011, 03:53:40 PM »
I'm surprised no one has brought this up, but today is the 20th anniversary of the Halloween Blizzard that brought major snows to the upper mid-west. The storm was thanks in large part to an arctic cold front that passed through the area a few days prior, as well as the "Perfect Storm" spinning off the east coast (preventing any storms from moving east). To commemorate the event, I created a page about it on my site. Complete with video clips of TWC covering the storm from start to finish.

Yes, it was removed some time ago.

Do you have Office 03 or 07?

EDIT: In case you do have Office 03, here it is in .xls format
Nope. In fact, I don't even have Office. It's just a trial. Since discovering OpenOffice years ago, I've never seen a need for Office. Anyway, your download worked. Thanks!

Am I the only one that can't open the list? Microsoft Office thinks it's written in Japanese and Open Office can't read it.

Wasn't this aired on TWC?  I can't find on the site.
Yes, it's on the August 1990 playlist. The updated site will have it. I have it as a 5:00, but I know I have footage of it as a 1:00.
