Why are you using the NOAA logo instead of TWC? And why does it sound like Dan is talking in an echo chamber?

Everything Else TWC / Re: The Weather Channel updates weather.com

Looks like there's another "new" weather.com coming:
http://www.weather.com/wx/coming-soon

I saw that the other day. I thought it was funny when the announcer mentioned that weather would be front and center, yet below the current conditions were the usual stories about whales, creepy buildings, and 80s bikinis.

Shoot. I was going to add them to the unknowns page. I'll do that tonight. Thanks for the reminder!

I agree with Andy. This is a public forum, Sam. If you have something to share, please do. If it's something you can't share, then keep it to yourself. Thanks.

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about him all of a sudden. He's been calling global warming a lie for a long time.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Morning Show: "AMHQ with Sam Champion"

Carl Parker, filling in for Mike Bettes, made kind of a bizarre political joke this morning. He said that he's dressing up as Big Bird for Halloween to "irritate Mitt Romney." Yeah, remember that? Sam does, and his reaction was... obnoxious.

I read about this on NewsBusters earlier today. What a dumb and old joke. As Obama would say, 2012 called and it wants it's joke back. I suppose I could cut Carl and Sam some slack if the joke made sense. Mitt said that he liked Big Bird, but didn't think that tax payers needed to support him (and all of PBS). So I don't see how dressing up as Big Bird would be irritating to Mitt. Stick to the weather guys. <_<

Everything Else Classic TWC / Re: Late 80s station ID, unknown song
« on: October 24, 2014, 01:27:03 AM »
Found it! Someone sent me an email identifying one of my unknowns tonight. Naturally I listened to clips of every song off the album, and one of them was this song! It's called "Not That Kind Of Girl" and is by Joyride (which featured Lee Ritenour).

Are you saying I'm wrong for saying false headlines?
No. Obviously I was agreeing with you.

False headlines? That's a new one. According to another article on the site, they also did this in May about the forecast for the upcoming hurricane season. It was forecast to be at or slightly below normal, but TWC titled the article "NOAA Hurricane Forecast May Shock You." Seriously!? They later changed it when some people complained, but still...wow.

I'll have to check it tonight. There weren't any infomercials the last time I watched.

Is "Amanda's World" the only one that aired?
As far as I know. I didn't recognize any of the other songs.

One of my favorite TWC documentaries. Although I believe it first shown in 94 or 95.

Sorry, but to the best of my knowledge, that song is not available. It was custom made for TWC. I haven't even been able to confirm the composer, but it could be Impact Music (based on the credits of some of the documentaries).

I couldn't find a clip of it anywhere either, but I purchased the CD from someone on Amazon.
