I started listening when I found first read this thread. I tun in every now and then at work. So far I've discovered a handful of songs I like. And earlier this afternoon, they played one of Trammell's local forecast songs. That was weird.

Or maybe NBC acquired it when they bought Weather Plus. And since they folded the channel, they decided to redirect it to TWC.

Great, so they are now trying to do fewer weather coverage.    This is just like what happened to Cartoon Network since 2005.

Cartoon Network used to cover weather!?

For The Weather Channel, the risk lies in alienating its regular weather-obsessed viewers, who tune in for news of high-pressure systems rather than high drama.

LOL. You alienated your real viewers a LONG time ago! But hey, if the Travel Channel is showing movies instead of educating its viewers, might as well follow their lead.

I tried it for a few months. I wasn't impressed. I had about four stations and even then I often heard the same song several times a day. I also didn't like the fact that I couldn't rate a song or album unless it played. The repetitive playlists wouldn't be as annoying if you were able to skip more than 10 or so songs. I later found last.fm and it's so much better.

Wow, you've certainly been through a lot. I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I remember how much my grandma's death affected me when I was 12. I can't imagine losing a parent at such a young age. That's gotta be really tough.

i think its just a waste of time to target this sector of the public. Obama should just worry about bigger things like the economy itself and spending less time on pork based politics (wasteful spending and bringing the olympics to chicago) that has been stalling our country for decades.

OMG, can you imagine how much money and paper this country would save if we eliminated pork barrel spending!? The health care bill, for example, would probably end up being only about 25 pages.

If Obama wants education to be reformed, get better teachers and invest to improve facilities.

Yah, like firing teachers who refuse to give grades or use red ink because it might hurt the student's feelings. Getting rid of the unions would help too.
