General Discussion / Re: Your Interactive Program Guide

If you have Satellite or Digital Cable or what ever else out there offers a IPG...what does yours look like?  I find it interesting what some cable provider's look like.
I have Cox Communications Digital Cable and here's what ours looks like...

I'm lucky to have the current ad-free program guide with On Demand from Comcast. It has a blue color scheme, unless you change it from the Setup menu.
You can change the color scheme?  I like Cox's being Ad-Free but its really plain and blah.  They need to spruce it up and add some options to change some stuff.  I also really don't need the little TV window in the upper right...if I wana watch a show I will turn into that channel...

Numerous school districts in Kansas have also did this.  As long as kids test scores remain the same I don't see a problem...

Nice to see another lightning-photographer, Martin!

Even though some of these pictures are from last summer, I wasn't a member here then so I thought I would show them...
Here are some lightnings shots, and Sundog shots I have...and some Mammatus Clouds.
You can see a bunch more of my weather shots at my flickr account:

Local Forecast / Re: Narrations on the HD STAR
« on: June 04, 2010, 03:34:54 AM »
So why exactly is Jim doing the narration?  I think his voice is more for like, severe weather...not reading the current conditions.

Great there's narration...
Really? Honestly, what did you expect?
How about really to yourself.  At least he had something to say related to the topic.  Not just trying to pick a fight...

Jim Cantore confirmed to me on his twitter account that he did the narrations for the soon to be released HD STAR. I am quite excited to hear what its going to sound like!
He needs to do the narrations for the Warning Ticker on the IS.

Yes, everything appears to be working 100% now...which is something I have not seen since WcScan came on!

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Re: TWC Feed Is Distorted!
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:51:45 PM »
I posted on TWC's FB page that the feed was skipping and if anyone reading this has the power to reboot STARs to please reboot STAR 24745.
Hmm, interesting.  Perhaps I should post something about Topeka's problematic WxScan.  Something about NE KS and WxStars...my grandparents 4000 a couple of years ago was in such bad condition you could hardly read anything on the local forecast, but then the Star Team must have seen it, as they eventually got a brand new one (practically).

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:43:35 PM »
Is it just me or is the local forecast coming on at :09 after...and rushing through.  I don't tend to watch TWC's LF except at night, and it always seems to come on at :09 and like rush through all the sections.  I barely have time to read the local conditions (of other towns) before it's movin on.

For being that old, I thought they would be huge.  They don't look that big actually.
